While fans are still speculating about the mysterious Fallout stream, Obsidian Entertainment states that the project has nothing to do with them. Instead, the developers of Fallout: New Vegas are unusually sad on Twitter.
Thousands of Fallout fans are still captivated by Bethesda’s livestream, which unexpectedly went online last night. Viewers see a test pattern that serves as a loading screen in the newer Fallout titles, along with a Vault-Boy figure that is occasionally moved by a guy.
A studio that seems to have nothing to do with the hype is Obsidian Entertainment. The studio has repeatedly emphasized in the past how much they would love to make a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas.
Obsidian Entertainment is Sad on Twitter
Obsidian speaks up on Twitter: The studio behind Fallout: New Vegas, which was released in 2010 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, has often talked about a possible sequel. According to Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart, a second part would be separate from what the team at Bethesda is doing and could, like Fallout: New Vegas itself, be set on the West Coast of the USA.
After the Fallout stream went online, Obsidian posted a cryptic message on Twitter. “How can you just leave someone hanging? Questions for a friend” is written in the tweet, which is further accompanied by the hashtag #ItsNotUs.
Fans Interpret Tweet as Statement on Fallout: While Obsidian does not explicitly explain what their tweet refers to, Fallout fans see it as a statement regarding a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas.
Even though Obsidian has repeatedly stated that they are not working on a new entry in the series, some players still hope for a return of the studio to the franchise.
Players Believe in Fallout 3 Remastered: In the Fallout Subreddit, hints about the mysterious stream are currently being collected. Some fans assume that a remastered version of Fallout 3 could possibly be announced.

Fallout 3 will celebrate its tenth anniversary in October, and the title received a hidden DLC on Steam 28 days ago. The test pattern shown in the stream is the same image used in Fallout 3 – although colored.
It should also be mentioned that Fallout: New Vegas received a hidden DLC 20 days ago as well. Fans speculate that Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas could be released together as a remastered version.
