There are new teasers for the 2nd season of the Amazon-series on Fallout, along with a release window and announcement of season 3. What will particularly please fans of the games, however, is that the journey unmistakably leads to the Mojave’s gambling paradise.
Here are the new details:
- In two new teasers, Amazon has provided some new information about Fallout season 2. Among other things, the season is expected to be released in December 2025, not 2026 as previously thought (via Reddit).
- The teaser shows Lucy and the ghoul after their escape from Los Angeles, traveling through the desert, with a hint right at the beginning: 50 miles to Las Vegas.
- A second teaser shows actor Cooper Howard in various commercials, including for Nuka Cola, a sunscreen, and the Lucky 38 – the casino from Fallout: New Vegas (via Reddit).
What do we know about season 2 now? Lucy and the ghoul are apparently on their way to Las Vegas, or rather the Fallout version of it: New Vegas. The silhouette of the city is already clearly visible in the teaser.
There is no concrete information about the plot yet, but the top of the Lucky 38 can be seen very clearly. It’s reasonable to assume that Mr. House will play a significant role, who rules over the city of New Vegas.
Robert House was briefly seen in the Fallout series as a representative of Rob-Co at the secret VaultTec meeting. In New Vegas, Mr. House is just an AI. Fans have already derived some additional information from the short trailer:
- Lucy and the ghoul must have already walked at least 283 miles (about 455 km) on foot (via X), as they still need 50 miles to reach Las Vegas.
- According to Google Maps, however, with the same parameters, it’s more like 233 miles (about 375 km), which is a few days’ traveling less.
- Presumably, the overall journey was longer, as the golden rule of the wasteland is: “You will always be distracted by bullshit.”
As Variety also confirms, the green light has been given for a 3rd season of the Fallout series. A date and plot details are still pending.
New Vegas is the highlight of Fallout for many fans
That the journey heads to New Vegas was already known before. The game is considered by many fans to be the best part of the Fallout series, even though according to Metacritic, at least Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 have better ratings. On Steam, New Vegas has a rating of 96% positive.
In New Vegas, you start with a bullet in your head and no memory, except for the task of bringing a mysterious chip to New Vegas as a courier. The game is characterized by classic, absurd Fallout humor and has the best writing in the series for fans of the game.
You can also find Vault 11, one of the most gruesome vaults in the world of Fallout in New Vegas.
Similar to Lucy and the ghoul, you roam through the Mojave Desert in New Vegas. It is therefore quite possible that there will be a few references to the game – for example, that the courier suddenly appears somewhere.
Starting in December, you can then watch season 2 yourself and discover what really happens. Presumably, the series will once again be exclusively available on Amazon Prime.
