In Fallout 76, there are several factions represented, which Bethesda is gradually introducing. It has now been officially confirmed that the Enclave will be represented. This organization aims to restore the old government.
Although Fallout 76 has to do without human NPCs, factions still seem to play a role in some form. Recently, Bethesda introduced several factions – including the Brotherhood of Steel and the Raiders.
The developer has now confirmed that the Enclave, known from Fallout 2 and 3, will also play a role. This organization seeks to restore the former US government. They rarely behaved peacefully.

Enclave’s Hideout is likely a secret bunker
What is the Enclave? This grouping existed even before the Great War. It consisted of a group of influential government members. They were not averse to the nuclear war.
In their view, only important people should survive to build a new world order without communism after the collapse. They even collaborated with Vault-Tec and briefly planned the colonization of other planets.
The Enclave believes that anyone outside the organization has mutated, is consequently dangerous, and must be eliminated.
How does the Enclave get to West Virginia? On Twitter, Bethesda shows a picture of the Enclave and gives a brief description. After the war, the Enclave, which included the US President, settled on an oil rig to start the reconstruction.
Several branches, however, are spread across the USA and live in secret bunkers. It is possible that many, perhaps even all of these bunkers are Vaults.
The post mentions such a bunker where the Enclave settled. This bunker is apparently located somewhere in Appalachia, the region of Fallout 76. Could this bunker even be Vault 76, the place where the game begins?
It is possible that this story is part of the main storyline. Even without NPCs, Fallout 76 aims to provide a real story, of which some details have already leaked.

Currently, 5 factions are known
Bethesda recently introduced some groupings that will somehow appear in Fallout 76.
These factions are known so far:
- The Brotherhood of Steel,
- Raiders
- Free States or Preppers,
- Responders
- The Enclave
What role could they play in Fallout 76? Bethesda has not revealed anything concrete about this yet. PCGamer speculates whether players might be able to choose a faction and thereby have different advantages.
As it stands, however, these are merely backstories of people who once lived in Appalachia and are now all dead. Only their remains can be found in the game world.
