The developers of Fallout 76 have rolled out the patch for the first season of the survival game. You can now download the new update 20. MeinMMO tells you what is included.
What is this update? Today, Tuesday, June 30, 2020, Fallout 76 received update 20. This brings the first season with a free season pass for all players. Since around 4 PM, the game has been under maintenance and the patch can be downloaded.
The new update brings the biggest content boost since the massive Wastelanders update, which completely changed Fallout 76.
As of around 7:20 PM, the servers should be back online and the update playable.
The season will last for ten weeks, until September 8, 2020.
How big is the update? Depending on which platform you are playing on, you will have different download sizes:
- PC (Bethesda): 4 GB
- PC (Steam): 4.3 GB
- PS4: 11.2 GB
- Xbox One: 11.6 GB
Patch notes for the new update 20 on June 30
This is the season pass: The biggest new feature of the update is the season pass “The Legendary Race”, where you can earn over 100 rewards. This comes with the S.C.O.R.E. system – points that you collect through daily and weekly challenges.
The challenges will no longer grant atoms. Instead, you will receive S.C.O.R.E. This excludes character, world, or social challenges, which will still grant atom rewards.
With each rank you achieve through points, you can claim new rewards. These include skins, C.A.M.P. items, armor, perk cards, and even the new currency gold bars.
The goal is to defeat the evil Dr. Zorbo on the game board of the season pass and reach the finish line before him. If you want to skip levels, you can purchase level jumps for 150 atoms per level two weeks after the start of the season (July 14).
You can access the season pass and the overview of the challenges through a new option directly in the menu.
This is what the update brings: Another major feature is the public teams introduced with the update. These allow you to form teams with other players for various activities in Fallout 76 and even gain bonuses. If you play together long enough, you form “bands” with the other members for stronger bonuses:
- Hunting: +25% experience points on kills (+100% with full band)
- Role-playing: +1 charisma (+4 with full band)
- Events: +25% experience points for events (+100% with full band)
- Exploration: +1 endurance (+4 with full band)
- Building: +1 intelligence (+4 with full band)
- Casual: +1 luck (+4 with full band)

This is what future updates bring
The first season is just the beginning of the new content that is expected to arrive in 2020 and 2021. The developers have already presented a roadmap for Fallout 76, showing more seasons and a legendary faction. Since it has already been revealed that the first season will last for 10 weeks, you can expect the next new features around early September.
