After a surprise livestream about Fallout went online on the official Bethesda channels last night, the secret has finally been unveiled. Fallout 76 will be the next game in the popular post-apocalyptic Fallout series.
Todd Howard personally announced the teaser for the next game from Bethesda. It will be named Fallout 76 and might possibly deal with the rebuilding after nuclear fallout.
Fallout 76: New game is likely a spin-off of the Fallout series
After many speculations about a Fallout 5, it seems that Fallout 76 is now a spin-off of the popular series. Previously, the creators of Fallout New Vegas made it clear that they would have nothing to do with the new game.
Information on Fallout 76 will be available at E3 2018: More details about the upcoming game have been promised for E3, which starts on Tuesday, June 12. The press conference from Bethesda will take place before E3 on June 11 at 3:30 AM.
Allegedly Fallout 76 is an online game
Another name for Fallout Online? As the well-informed US site Kotaku reports, Fallout 76 is said to be “an online game of some sort.” It is reportedly being developed by Bethesda’s main studio in Maryland along with the Austin office, which was previously known as the Battlecry Studio. However, these are still just rumors for the moment. More about these rumors can be found in this article:
What is Vault 76?
Vault 76 is no stranger: Vault 76 has already been mentioned in earlier installments of the Fallout series. The bunker is referenced in the terminals of the Citadel, the headquarters of the Brotherhood of Steel, in Fallout 3, as well as in logs from the “Mothership Zeta” DLC.

Vault 76 is said to be a kind of “comparison bunker” for other Vaults and was meant to house 500 residents. The bunker was constructed starting in February 2065 and was supposed to open in 2076 for the three hundredth anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of America. Fallout 4 mentions that Vault 76 was to be expanded.
In the current teaser trailer, the inauguration of the Vault can be seen on a television, stating that the residents are to take over the rebuilding after the radioactive fallout.
At the end of the trailer, the narrator states that our future begins in Vault 76.
