Currently, the servers of Fallout 76 are offline due to maintenance work. A new patch is online and brings some bug fixes and changes. Here’s what’s included.
This is the new patch: As Bethesda reports in the official forum, maintenance work is currently ongoing. Players cannot access the servers of Fallout 76 during this time. At the same time, a new patch has been released that mainly addresses bug fixes and some changes.
The update is already available on PS4 and is about 3.7 GB in size. The update log only states “General bug fixes,” and Bethesda has not yet published any patch notes. However, there are still some details available.

These are the biggest changes
Alongside some bug fixes across all areas of Fallout 76, there are some adjustments to the balance. Some skills and perks are being adjusted.
Like the perk “Demolition Expert,” which increases your explosion damage. The values have been significantly reduced from
- +20%/40%/60%/80%/100% to
- +20%/30%/40%/50%/60%
So with each rank, there is only a 10% bonus instead of 20% as before. This is just one of many balance changes. The legendary explosive mod has also been toned down because it was simply too strong overall. Additionally, flamethrowers, cryolators, plasma, and laser weapons can no longer spawn with explosive mods.
These are the changes in design and gameplay: The maximum carry weight is now 1500 in addition to your regular carry capacity. If you have a maximum carry weight of 210, it is a total of 1710. Once this limit is reached, you cannot move anymore, and you cannot pick up any further items or caps. This aims to improve server performance.

There are also new bottle caps containers. They are intended to enable loot to spawn in instances. This is meant to avoid exploits.
If you want to spend your caps, merchants should now be even more interesting for you. Plans and recipes are no longer randomly generated; instead, they are available to purchase from certain merchants. Many of these plans, however, depend on the level and may not appear immediately in the offer.
In addition, there are new blueprints for your camp. From walls to generators, several new ones have been added.
These are the changes in the PvP area: A server-wide message will now appear when a player joins the Hunter/Hunted game. Additionally, there is a message when the game can start to give players one last chance to join.
In addition, the beta for the new Survival PvP mode is starting soon.

How long are the servers offline? This is currently unknown. Bethesda promises to keep players updated.
The complete patch notes, including bug fixes can be read on the official site.
Following criticism from players, new PvE content is also expected to be released soon.
