Fallout 76 could regularly receive updates, similar to MMO games. According to Bethesda, it is designed to enable straightforward support – even on a weekly basis.
Bethesda has big plans for Fallout 76. The first in-house online game (ESO was developed by Zenimax Online Studios) is meant to receive regular updates – and not just every few months.
The makers are expected to be able to respond flexibly and quickly to fan feedback. This is how the game is fundamentally designed, according to Todd Howard, head developer for Fallout 76.

Monthly and Weekly Updates Possible
This is how they plan to enable frequent updates:
On the one hand, Bethesda has a clear plan spanning several months and years; on the other hand, fan feedback is also crucial.
We can add things that players like or change parts of the game. And this part is very exciting for us: We have this game that we are releasing, but then we also have the game as it will be in one or two years.

There is no “end” planned: Bethesda’s Vice President Pete Hines has already commented on how long Fallout 76 could be supported.
There is no fixed timetable for this. Fallout 76 could therefore run indefinitely, if fan feedback is positive.
Similar to previous titles, they hope that fans will spend years with the game. They aim to achieve this through the planned DLCs.

DLCs, Season Pass, and Microtransactions – Here’s What We Know So Far
Here are the plans for additional content: There will be no Season Pass or paid DLCs. All expansions are to be free.
What we know about planned microtransactions: There are items that can be purchased for real money. These are intended to be purely cosmetic and can be unlocked in normal gameplay.
We will probably find out exactly how all this will work in the beta for Fallout 76 at the latest.
