A combination of certain perks and mutations allows you to float in Fallout 76.
Want to fly over the post-apocalyptic wasteland? No problem. It is (currently) possible with a bug.
Up into the skies!
How does it work? You need to combine the following mutations and perks to be able to fly.
- If you have the mutation “Marsupial”, then it is possible to jump higher in the game
- Additionally, you need the mutation “Bird Bones”. This allows you to fall slower
- Now you should also have the perk “Strange in Numbers”
- Everyone in your team needs this perk card to boost your mutations
The combination of these “abilities” along with team members who have the perk card “Strange in Numbers” allows you to fly.
Can you really fly? It’s not actual flying. You just jump extremely high and then float slowly to the ground, which looks like flying. You cannot gain more height after your first jump.
Flying also has disadvantages
What are the pros and cons? Being able to float is not just a good thing.
- The advantage is that you can reach places that are otherwise not or hardly accessible
- The disadvantage is that you float down extremely slowly, which can lead to tricky situations
What do the players say about it? The floating is well-received in the community. Many enjoy exploring the world in this way. However, fans are now worried that Bethesda will quickly remove this bug with a patch from the game.
