Some fans of Fallout 76 have found unreleased content in the game files. Some features look particularly good, according to our author Benedict. We present these features to you.
A user published a list on reddit referring to features in Fallout 76 that are not yet implemented. Some events, quests, and features seem like great additions to the game and have a good chance of making it into Fallout 76.
The best unreleased features
When I looked at the list of unreleased features, some of them particularly caught my eye.
1. The “Presidential Election” Event
Several files can be found that deal with a “Presidential Election.” This is probably a PvP event that resembles a “King of the Hill” mode. Whoever stands in the spotlight for a certain amount of time wins.
The event seems to take place in the Enclave bunker, where the ballot printer machines are also located. So far, I haven’t been able to find a use for them, which makes this event plausible.
The goal is presumably to be the first to complete the speaking time and be elected president. Opponents can simply be shot down. As a reward, fans suspect access to the president’s suite of the bunker, which is currently inaccessible.
This suite may also hold the president skin for the Power Armor.
2. The Challenge Quest of the Order of Mysteries
A series of different files refer to “challenges” (original: “danger room”), apparently against various types of enemies like Deathclaws, ghouls, or Yao Guai. The user VirtualMess pointed out that these might be tasks from the Order of Mysteries.
The Order of Mysteries is one of the best quest lines in Fallout 76. Through many tasks and slowly rising in the ranks, one gradually becomes a full member of a secret “superhero” order.
I found this quest line incredibly exciting even on my first playthrough and the rewards quite good, especially since they are legendary items that level up with you. But even with the highest rank, some areas of the villa were still not usable.
One of these places is the challenge and practice room, which currently has no function assigned to it. Training cannot be started. These challenges would be perfect for the order.
3. Legendary Mutations for Legendary Enemies
A major point of unreleased features was mutations for enemies. These refer to legendary mutations that are supposed to affect legendary enemies. The mutations include:
- Hit points are regenerated and the enemy now deals double damage.
- Hit points are regenerated and the enemy now deals poison damage.
- Hit points are regenerated and the enemy now deals RAD damage.
- Hit points are regenerated and the enemy now deals more damage and is more accurate.
I find the legendary mutations very interesting. If there are more bosses than just the Queen of the Scorched that appears when an atom bomb hits the Prime Rift, the mutations could spice up every fight. Even “normal” legendary enemies could become a challenge this way.
4. The “Scorched” Disease
At several places, hints of mutations and diseases have been discovered, which apparently have not made it into Fallout 76. However, they would fit well into the game. One of them is the “Scorched” disease.
The disease transforms a person into a Scorched, which are the main enemies in the story of Fallout 76. The disease is transmitted by Scorched beasts. Infected people “burn” slowly from the inside out.
The special thing about the disease is that infected individuals do not die immediately but change slowly. They lose the ability to think clearly and join a “swarm consciousness”.
It would be very interesting to see how the disease affects players. Unfortunately, it seems that this is one of the ideas that will no longer come.
5. Repeatable Quest for “Scorched Ash”
Lastly, a short note mentions that a quest may be planned that involves handing in “Scorched Ash”. According to the files, at least 5 units of ash must be handed in.
The ash is already found at some orders. So far, it has no apparent use. With the repeatable quest, that would change, and its existence in the game suggests that the quest might actually still happen.
The rewards for the quest could look similar to the Technical Data for the Steel Brotherhood. This is already a repeatable quest with similar collectible items. However, the ash would fit much better into the story. The complete list of found files can be found on reddit.
