The survival MMO Fallout 76 offers some methods to quickly gain experience points. For most, you need to do a lot or be well equipped. Our MeinMMO author Sascha Asendorf tells you how he leveled his character easily and quickly.
With the Wastelanders update, Fallout 76 pulled me back into the wasteland, and I like it. My return after over a year of cryosleep went very well, and my character wanted to be leveled up.
This was my situation: With my almost level 30 character, I wanted to reach level 50 as quickly as possible to obtain all weapons and gear at maximum level. Because even though there is no level cap, gear does not surpass level 50.
In this process, I found a quick and very simple method to get over 12,000 experience points per hour. This method is also suitable for new players starting at level 10 or 15. However, even players with level 500+ can comfortably farm Stimpaks, bottle caps, grenades, and clean water using this method.
This is how you level up fastest to level 50+
This is the method: It is simply a repeatable task from the Scouts. The quest is called “Tadpole Run Test,” for which you just need to complete a parkour course within the given time. To start the quest, you need to join the Scouts first.
This is how you join the Scouts: To join the Scouts, you just need to talk to Scout Leader Jaggy. The Mr. Handy robot is waiting for you northeast of the Scout Pioneer Camp.
This is how to get to the Tadpole Run Test: The parkour start is located further east at the Sunnytop Ski Resort of Appalachia.
Once there, it’s best to sneak around the mutant camp. If you fast-travel there, go left around and orient yourself at the camp’s border.
You can hardly miss the start. You will find a small sign that says “Pioneer Scouts Athletics Course” written in chalk. A yellow flag further marks the spot.
This is what you need to do now: Once you’ve found the right spot, you’ll notice the intercom next to the sign and the flag. Press the button and the quest begins.
This is the parkour: The run test is very simple. You just need to run down a mountain path, pass checkpoints, and survive the traps. You need to avoid grenades, mines, bear traps, or flamethrowers. But only the first time. All subsequent runs pose no danger as the traps will only trigger once or can be destroyed.
This is what you need to pay attention to: If your level is not very high yet, you should sneak at the start and at the finish to avoid attracting the mutants on site. They can become a problem otherwise.
This is the reward: For each completed round, there is more or less the same reward:
- 418 experience points without buffs
- 50 bottle caps
- 1-5 x clean water
- 1-3 x Stimpaks
- Various grenades or mines
- 1-3 x RadAway
The quantities of items can vary. The time you take for a full run, from the start to the finish and back, is approximately 2.5 minutes.
This makes it faster: If you set up your camp at the Sunnytop Ski Resort near the parkour start, you can fast-travel back up from the finish for free. This saves time if you have Fallout 76 installed on an SSD.
I completed the entire quest, from pressing the button, listening to the quest explanation, starting the run test, passing the finish, and returning to the start button, in less than 2 minutes. If I do this for an hour, I end up with the following results:
- About 12,600 experience points
- About 1500 bottle caps
- On average 90 x clean water
- On average 50 x Stimpaks
- On average 60 x RadAways
- Many grenades and mines
Since the items in large quantities weigh a lot, I sell most of the things to the vendor and earn an additional 1,000 bottle caps or more.
For players at a higher level, for whom 12,600 experience points are just a drop in the ocean, the relaxed parkour is excellent for farming mainly Stimpaks. For more experience points, players with good gear should detonate an atomic bomb and hunt the monsters there.
