Bethesda has released new plans for Fallout 76 for the year 2019 in a roadmap. It looks like we can expect some new features soon. The first ones should be out shortly, but there are enough new features for the whole year.
This has been announced: In the official roadmap, Bethesda has provided an overview of new content. It shows three major areas:
- Spring: Wild Appalachia
- Summer: Nuclear Winter
- Autumn: Wastelanders
Each of these areas seems to come with its own, new content. So it is likely that there will be larger content patches distributed throughout the year that will deliver new content.
Fallout 76: What awaits us in Spring
What is coming in Spring? The content expected for Spring has already been explained quite thoroughly. For an overview, we have categorized them for you.
What’s coming for PvE
- New Quest: The new quest line “Nothing but Troubles” will be implemented. This seems to have something to do with a new cryptid such as the Mothman haunting Appalachia. A mythical monster with claws is expected to come.
- New Quest: The quest “Onwards!” introduces a scout quest line to the game. This was already discovered in a datamine of the game files, but was found to be intended for discarded content. The quest line promises badges and a customizable backpack.
- Legendary Trader: The Spring content also mentions a trader for legendary items. With this trader, you should be able to recycle legendary equipment or exchange it for new items.
Crafting and C.A.M.P
- Player Shops: The update lists vending machines that are said to work autonomously according to the description. You can register items and set a price. This sounds just like the promised feature of player shops.
- New Camera: The camera feature is one of the most popular features and players use it for all kinds of things, like to document their leisure trip with the Mothman. A new camera is supposed to be added in the update.
- Brew and Distill: A brewing and distilling system will be introduced, allowing you to set up the corresponding workbenches in your C.A.M.P. With special recipes, you should be able to delve into the drink “Nukashine”.
Events
A Carnival event arrives in Appalachia. Various carnival masks can already be found and worn in the game. Maybe these will finally have a purpose. As a reward for the event, more masks await.
What’s coming for PvP
The already promised Survival Mode of Fallout 76 is set to launch. This runs separately from the current Adventure Mode but shares the characters. In Survival Mode, there are fewer restrictions and different rules for PvP, such as limited respawning and the ability to inflict full damage on players at all times.
What’s coming in Summer and Autumn?
The new features for Summer 2019 and Autumn 2019 are not yet as detailed as those for Spring. However, some new features for Summer are already known:
- New Game Mode – Nuclear Winter: The new game mode is expected to be implemented with different rules that have not yet been specifically revealed. It sounds like a PvE mode as a balance to the Survival Mode with the effects of the popular nukes.
- New Raids: Vaults 96 and 94 will be opened for players. The vaults are raids designed for groups of higher-level players. A player has already entered another Vault 63.
- Legendary Players: Fallout veterans of level 50 and above are expected to receive a “legendary status” that grants them special abilities.
For the Autumn update “Wastelanders”, it has only been announced so far that the story of the main quest line will continue. Apparently, our actions in Appalachia have consequences…
