With the latest issue of “From the Vault,” Bethesda delivers a reveal trailer for the upcoming “Steel Dawn” update in Fallout 76. The trailer introduces three new protagonists: Paladin Rahmani, Knight Shin, and Scholar Valdez. In addition to new NPCs, there are also new locations, weapons, and armor from the Brotherhood’s arsenal.
When is the update coming? On December 1, 2020, the Steel Brotherhood will arrive in Appalachia. “Steel Dawn” will then be available for all Fallout 76 players for free. In addition to a brand-new questline, Appalachia will come to life, as the Brotherhood brings new weapons and equipment and will surely establish some new camps in Appalachia.
In the recently released trailer, Bethesda already gets fans excited for the upcoming update and introduces Paladin Rahmani, Knight Shin, and Scholar Valdez. With impressive footage and suitable musical accompaniment, it is made clear why the Steel Brotherhood is returning to Appalachia:
On November 19, 2020, Bethesda will release a background video about the Steel Brotherhood. The video will be released one and a half weeks before the release of the last major Fallout 76 update of 2020 “Steel Dawn”.
Preparing for the Steel Brotherhood
If you want to build a C.A.M.P. in the style of the Brotherhood, you can secure the Brotherhood Recruitment Pack in the Atom Shop at launch. It contains a variety of items:
- Brotherhood Scouting Tower
- Barrier with BoS logo and warning lights
- Barracks locker for clothing worn under power armor

What to expect next: In addition to the Steel Brotherhood, the update will introduce instanced C.A.M.P. shelters, your own vaults. Three accommodations will be available, allowing life underground:
- Vault Supply Room: Available for free for all
- Vault Foyer: Initially only for Fallout 1st members, later in the Atomic Shop for everyone
- Vault Atrium: Immediately available for purchase in the Atomic Shop after release

A new, old weapon in Fallout 76: The Plasma Cutter will also be available in Fallout 76 starting December 1st. The plasma weapon is a one-handed melee weapon, and players above level 50 can unlock the blueprint through quests within the daily operations. The drop chance depends on how quickly you complete the mission.
- Initiate: under 16 minutes – 0.22% drop chance
- Paladin: under 12 minutes – 0.44% drop chance
- Elder: under 8 minutes – 3.56% drop chance
Bethesda celebrates 2 years of Fallout 76
How is the birthday celebrated? On November 14, 2018, Fallout 76 officially launched. The then B.E.T.A and the release caused strong criticism of the game and Bethesda. In November, Fallout 76 celebrates its second birthday. Since November 10, players have been treated to plenty of offers and discounts. Until November 16, the bonus challenge week runs, during which S.C.O.R.E. can be earned. In addition to the usual challenges, there are two daily bonus challenges and two additional weekly challenges.
If you have legendary currency, you should also check out the legendary vendor Murmrgh between Thursday, November 12 at 6:00 PM CET and Monday, November 16 at 6:00 PM CET. Starting November 24, players can expect another event “Treasure Seeker Hunt”, where players of all levels will have plenty of rewards.
What players can expect in December: During the Christmas season, there will also be celebrations in Fallout 76. With the “Steel Dawn” update on December 1, the double S.C.O.R.E points week begins. Bethesda will double your experience points from December 10 to 14, before Season 3 begins on December 15.
The year in Fallout 76 will be rounded off with the “Holidays Burned Event” from December 17 to 31, and players will also receive a 25% discount on Murmrgh’s secret selection from December 22 to 29.
