Bethesda has announced a new Fallout title with Fallout 76 and the Internet is buzzing. An error from an online retailer has revealed the supposed release date. Is Fallout 76 really coming out this soon?
British Amazon site leaks release date of Fallout 76: Fallout 76 is available on the British branch of Amazon. For a short time, the release date of July 31, 2018, was listed. This error has since been corrected and no date can now be found.
A blurry photo offers more reason for speculation: Shortly after the leak, a photo surfaced on Reddit confirming July 31, 2018, as the release date once again. Not much can be discerned from the blurry image, but the numbers 07, 31 and 18 are still legible.
The recording is said to originate from material delivered for marketing purposes to a store, which then found its way to Reddit. The image seems to confirm that the date is correct and that it is indeed a leak, not a mistake. It is striking that two closely spaced leaks reveal the same date.
Bethesda is already doing some serious advertising: July 31 sounds quite soon considering the short time since the announcement of Fallout 76. However, Bethesda has already taken care of a lot of advertising.
For the promotion of Fallout 76, Bethesda has rented three entire hotel towers solely for promotional purposes. The hype being built suggests that the game could be released soon.
More precise information will be available at the press conference at E3: Whether the date will be confirmed or if it is just a mistake will likely be revealed at E3. Bethesda will hold a press conference on June 11 at 3:30 AM, where Fallout 76 will also be discussed.
Fallout 76 is allegedly supposed to be a classic Fallout RPG, where the online mode does not take away from the fun. However, the discussion about the gameplay style of Fallout 76 has sparked a heated debate.
