For a long time, players could find a quirky emote in the Fallout 76 shop that had a broken name and no icon, but it did have an animation. That was not planned. Nevertheless, many used it. Now it is gone.
What kind of emote is it? In the Fallout 76 shop, the emote was simply called “RomanCandleCelebration”, which translates to “Roman Candle Celebration”. However, the emote itself apparently did not work as intended.
When players used it, they pulled out a long stick and lit it with a lighter – but without a flame. They then held the stick in the air and twitched it a few times as if a small explosion should be visible there.
Apparently, it is supposed to be a firework, just without the fireworks. No sparks, no colors, and no explosions, just the character waving a stick around.
Some players compared the emote to sad wizards or unsuccessful students who weren’t accepted into Harry Potter’s magic school. Although the emote didn’t work, it did entertain some of the users.
Can I still get the emote? No, “RomanCandleCelebration” has now been removed from the Atomic Shop of Fallout 76. With the new major update “Steel Reign” from July 7, the emote disappeared.
That players were able to get the emote was not planned at all. Due to an error, it was available for purchase, according to some users on reddit since February (via reddit.com).
A community manager from Fallout 76 confirmed that this was not at all planned – they wanted to ensure that the emote was taken out of the shop again (via reddit.com). Nevertheless, it was available until July.
New update removes emote but brings new content
What’s in the update: With “Steel Reign”, the story of the Steel Brotherhood in Appalachia continues, one of the best-known factions in the entire Fallout universe. The update was announced earlier and promised to be unusually dark for Fallout.
Along with the new story, several new features have come to the game that players have been waiting for quite some time:
- you can craft your own legendary items with special components
- the popular power armors are now also available in a legendary variant – players have been asking for this since release
- legendary weapons, armor and power armors can receive new attributes
- a new merchant with special offers for your gold bars has appeared
- the limit for caps, gold bars, and legendary scrips has been increased
In addition, there is a new game board (Battle Pass) for Season 5 on which you can level up without limit for the first time. You can find the complete patch notes on the official website (via bethesda.net).
Over the years, Fallout 76 has continued to improve, and with many updates, new stories and features have been added to the game. Many players still enjoy playing and support each other when help is needed. Especially newcomers are always warmly welcomed. This is one of the reasons why Fallout 76 remains one of the best survival games for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in 2021.
