Fallout-76 player McStaken and his friends ended up in a new area of the game, which is not yet accessible, due to a “glitch”: in Vault 63. He feared being banned, but Bethesda showed tolerance.
What happened? During the “Rad-Rat Horde” event in Fallout 76, McStaken and his team suddenly found themselves in Vault 63. Due to a bug, the team was teleported into the Vault, but they only managed to get out through fast travel.
He informed the developers immediately about what had happened, but still feared that Bethesda might ban him. After all, there had been bans after players recently managed to access a developer area of the game that was not intended for them.
What was there to see in Vault 63? McStaken took some screenshots of the area. It is an abandoned bunker that apparently leads into a mine.
There are skeletons in Vault 63 jumpsuits, indicating that something terrible happened here. The bunker doesn’t offer anything more at the moment. The entrance is locked with a keycard. It may later become part of a quest to find this card to access the bunker.
No ban from Bethesda
What did Bethesda say about it? The developers have now commented on the situation. They will not ban McStaken, as he did not intentionally access the area. The team explained that the Vault is still a work in progress. They even thanked McStaken for contacting the developers right away and reporting this bug.
How are players reacting? On Reddit, Fallout 76 players are pleased with how tolerant Bethesda has reacted in this case. As for the Vault itself, the community is somewhat divided.
Given how Fallout 76 is structured (all NPCs are dead), it was to be expected that the inhabitants of the bunker are dead. Some would have wished for a bit more variety and surprise here.
All Vaults apparently already accessible
Can you visit more Vaults? According to other players on Reddit, it is possible to visit apparently all previously locked Vaults through a glitch. You can glide through walls at certain points of the bunker entrance with power armor. There are already some screenshots taken from Vault 94.
What about the Vaults? The Vaults are expected to come as new content in the future. Here, players will then expect new adventures, during which they will find out what happened in this bunker.
When will the bunkers be introduced into the game? Bethesda has not yet commented on when we can expect the new Vaults to be introduced. It is only known that they are coming.
