The launch of Bethesda’s online game Fallout 76 last November did not go well. One player found the unrealistic weight of the “Bobby Pins” particularly annoying, that he expressed his frustration with a special action.
What was the problem? At the launch of Fallout 76 on November 14, 2018, some players were annoyed by the weight of the hairpins (Bobby Pins), which serve as lockpicks in the game.
A hairpin weighed 0.1 pounds. This may not sound like much – unless you carry 100 or 200 of them. Bethesda then changed the weight to 0.001 pounds.

How much do hairpins weigh?
How did the player react? One player apparently got so upset about this “weight issue” that he wanted to vent his frustration. He sent Todd Howard from Bethesda a box of hairpins and urged him to weigh them.
What did Todd Howard say about it? Howard took the matter with humor. During the panel at PAX East, he spoke about the situation and said that Bethesda received a lot of letters, but the box of hairpins was the most creative so far.
What do fans say about the action? This funny story naturally made its way to Reddit. There, fans of Fallout 76 are amused by this story. Now players jokingly hope that there won’t be similar problems with other objects, such as weapons in the online game.
