Shortly after the launch of Fallout 76, a YouTuber proposed to his girlfriend. Publisher Bethesda played Cupid and helped create a special moment.
This was the proposal: During a joint unboxing video with his girlfriend Bree, YouTuber GrumbleGamer 18 suddenly brought out a huge package that he had his girlfriend unpack.
Inside the box was a poster that Bethesda had specially created:

It featured Vault Boy and Vault Girl with the question “Bree, will you marry me?”
The YouTuber then got down on one knee and proposed: “Will you make me a non-lonesome traveler?” Bree first asked if he was serious. And finally nodded.
You can see the proposal in the video here. We have skipped to the crucial moment:
Background: YouTuber GrumbleGamer 18 has been with his girlfriend, Bree, for four years. For about a year, he has known that he wants to marry her and has saved money for a ring.
As he thought about how to propose, he came up with the idea of combining the proposal with their shared love for video games. GrumbleGamer and his girlfriend share a particular passion for Bethesda games. They have spent many hours together in Skyrim and Fallout 4.
Therefore, he wanted to make a video game proposal, but how could that be done? After all, GrumbleGamer is not a huge YouTuber. His videos are watched by an average of 150 to 500 people. He doesn’t have significant connections either.
Help via Tweet: The YouTuber sent a tweet to the Twitter account of Fallout. However, he didn’t have much hope for this action.
But overnight, his tweet was picked up by many and forwarded to Bethesda.
And indeed: Bethesda got in touch with him, and a contact was made through a social media manager, making the moment possible.
Video game proposals can also go wrong: What doesn’t work was demonstrated a few months ago by the Spiderman game. Someone even got the developers to include the “Will you marry me?” in the game.
But before Spiderman was released, the couple had already broken up and the message was just sad. GrumbleGamer had none of those worries. He already knew that his relationship would hold.
The big fear he had was that someone would tell Bree about the tweet or that a comment under a video might spoil the surprise. But apparently, everything went smoothly. And she said “Yes” as well.
