Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has received its first major update. This includes a new level for the rotation. Additionally, one of the most annoying and unpopular mini-games will occur less frequently.
What’s included in the new update for Fall Guys? Fall Guys is a colorful battle royale game and surprisingly successful on Steam. In the game, funny potato creatures waddle awkwardly through absurd levels, trying to cross a finish line or grab a raccoon tail trophy. Meanwhile, they are hindered and trolled at will by other players.
The game has now received its first major update, which brings several changes. Bugs have been fixed, which previously caused certain controllers to not be recognized. Furthermore, you can now reliably grab the crown at the end, and some physics errors have also been corrected.
However, the two main changes are a new level and the reduced frequency of the mini-game “Royal Fumble”.
New Level and Less Frustration
What is the new level about? A new level for the game’s finale called Jump Showdown is now being added to the rotation. This mini-game was already present in the beta but was missing in the release version so far.
Jump Showdown is very similar to the already known level Jump Club. You have to run around on a kind of clock and jump to avoid the rotating hands, so they don’t knock you off the platform.
In Jump Showdown, however, the clock itself is unstable and the segments of the platform will eventually fall off. So you need to keep an eye on the hands and the ground. With this new level, the final rounds of Fall Guys should become a bit more varied.
Changes to Royal Fumble: Another major change in the patch is the reduced frequency of the level Royal Fumble. This is a mini-game where you grab a raccoon tail, and then all the other players chase after you to steal the tail.
This may sound fun, but due to the imprecise controls and especially the grabbing mechanic of Fall Guys, the big tail chase quickly becomes quite a hassle. In the rating by the website Kotaku, this level is described as by far the worst and most annoying in the entire game, and the reduced frequency is highly welcomed.
With the adjustments mentioned above, Fall Guys should now be even more fun. However, one issue remains. Because even a cheerful party game like Fall Guys is currently plagued by nasty cheaters who feel the need to win and therefore resort to unfair means. But the developers are already working on a solution.
