Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout allows players to jump around in crazy obstacle courses until only one remains. For one of the possible final rounds, a clever player has discovered a nasty trick to save themselves the stress.
How does the trick work? In the final round Jump Showdown, it’s actually about jumping. You need to dodge wildly rotating hands of a clock on disappearing platforms and jump over them. The hands get faster and the platforms become fewer.
Eventually, the wildly rotating hands sweep the Fall Guys into doom, but one can remain at the end in the wacky Battle Royale and win. But instead of exhausting himself jumping, a player has found a trick.
He seemingly jumps off the platform, but at the last moment uses the grab function and holds onto the edge of the platform. This way he remains safe in the game while his remaining opponent starts to sweat as the hands get faster and faster. Eventually, the opponent falls down and the lazy hanger-on is crowned the winner.
Feature or Exploit?
This is how fans react: The video of the hanging action is currently making the rounds on Twitter. Many people are celebrating the action and find that this kind of trolling fits perfectly with Fall Guys. Additionally, this stunt is not as easy to execute as one might think, after all, you take a big risk when intentionally jumping off the platform and need good timing to grab the edge. And luck is involved too, since the platforms can fall down and you should only hang on once you know that the platform will likely remain intact.
Is this still allowed? Other players clearly see the action as an exploit and an unfair trick. “It’s funny if one person does it now, but imagine if four guys do it at once? Then it goes on forever!” It remains to be seen how the developers will react to this. According to GameRant, hanging on platforms was already shown in an early trailer for Fall Guys, which at least indicates that the developers intentionally included the option in the game.
But no matter how a round ends, Fall Guys remains the surprise hit of summer 2020 and numerous players flood onto the servers to outwit each other as wobbly potato men. The game is thus ideal for large streamer personalities. Among them are Dr Disrespect and YouTuber PewDiePie, who both delivered an epic duel in Fall Guys.
