When asked who the best players in League of Legends are, Faker calls himself the best twice. And the twist? Everyone agrees with him.
Where did the question come from? The LoL pro was asked this after the finals of the Worlds 2025. This took place on November 9, 2025. Faker became the world champion for the third time in a row, but the most important player of the tournament was someone else.
After the finals, Faker was asked about the best players in League of Legends. A short clip about this was uploaded on the official YouTube channel lolesports, which you can watch here as a YouTube Short. The list of the “Demon King” is divided by leagues and looks as follows:
- Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok (that is himself) for the LoL Champions Korea (LCK)
- Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao for the Chinese LoL Pro League (LPL). He even received a €430 skin in LoL, but not for his main.
- Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang for the LoL Championship Pacific (LCP)
- Rasmus “Caps” Winther for the LoL European Championship (LEC). The Danish superstar in LoL is, along with his team, the greatest hope for Europe.
- Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng for the LoL Championship of the Americas (LTA)
Afterwards, Faker was asked who the best player is who has ever played the game. He didn’t think long before he named himself again. Thus, Faker appears twice on his list of the best LoL players.

Deservedly tied for 1st place
What do the fans say about it? In a Reddit post, this clip has already been discussed. It often says there: What would be seen as arrogance in others simply reflects the truth with Faker. He is truly so good that he can call himself the best player of the LCK – and the best LoL player of all time.

- “Faker is so dominant and clearly the GOAT that even the humblest guy who always lifts others up is forced to say that he [Faker] is the GOAT,” says Epicmission48 (Reddit)
- “It’s somehow strange to hear him casually referred to as ‘Faker’, as if that’s not himself, lol. It’s funny that he is so undisputedly regarded as the GOAT that it doesn’t even sound egotistical when he calls himself that,” writes Dakoolestkat123 (Reddit)
There isn’t much criticism of the list, although Reddit user zaxls expected Bjergsen rather than Doublelift (even though Doublelift is the correct answer in the end). “He kind of liked the guy,” writes zaxls (Reddit). KKilikk mentions in another comment: “The LCP player with the highest peak must be Karsa, right?” (Reddit). However, he doesn’t even appear in Faker’s list.
According to the fans, Faker can afford to pat himself on the back at this point. No one else has made such a big impact in e-sports related to LoL. The same goes for the game itself: Faker is such a legend in LoL that he has something that most champions lack
