Tip 6 – Windows Save Lives in Warzone
What snipers must know about windows: If you hit an enemy in Warzone with one of the two powerful sniper rifles in the head, they are history – whether they are armored or not. However, there is a catch: If the target is behind a glass pane, the damage is just enough reduced to prevent a one-shot kill.
Ace states that he has only been able to test the situation with the AX-50, whether the glass also protects against the HDR has yet to be proven. As a sniper, you should first break the windows to not spoil your perfect shot.
Windows have another peculiarity: It makes a difference whether you are looking through a pane from the inside or outside. If you are inside the building and look out, your thermal sight will fail. However, if you are in the open field and look through a window, your thermal sight will function as intended and display heat signatures.
If you want to take the sniper path in Warzone, you can find all the necessary sniper tricks in our guide:
Tip 7 – What You Need to Know About Cash
What happens to your cash after you are defeated? In Warzone, you can collect cash diligently to purchase useful items or to bring teammates back into the game. If you are defeated with cash in your pockets, you keep a small portion (20%) of it and can immediately access it after a Gulag escape.
30% of your collected cash disappears without a trace and is irretrievably lost. You leave half of your account behind after your demise. This cash can be picked up by anyone.
Here is an example calculation:
- You die with $10,000
- $2,000 you keep after the Gulag escape
- $3,000 disappear into thin air
- $5,000 remain at the place of your death
Tip 8 – Choose the Right Spot for a Re-Entry
This is how you quickly find loot after a re-entry: If your teammates have brought you back into the game or you have held your ground in the Gulag, you may re-enter Warzone. But choosing the right landing place can be tricky, as many areas are already looted or under enemy control.
Immediately open your parachute to buy yourself time, then scan the map for contracts. Land in an area where many of these contracts are still active. According to the expert, most players collect the mini-missions along with weapons or equipment.
Will this work 100%? No! This rule of thumb cannot guarantee that you will really land in an area that is still filled with loot. However, the chance is quite high. So keep an eye out for contracts, gear up quickly, and join your team.
Tip 9 – What the Airstrike Tells You
This is what you need to know about the airstrike: Some of the killstreak rewards from the Multiplayer mode of Call of Duty MW have also made their way into Warzone. These include drones as well as the powerful airstrike.
Once called, fighter jets appear that devastate a stretch of land. Their flight direction is not random but reveals the one who ordered the attack. The planes always start their attack in the direction the “commander” is facing.
If you see an airstrike coming at you, you now know where the enemy is hiding. You should dodge the attack sideways, as you have less to worry about on the flanks.
Tip 10 – You Don’t Have to Fear a Bounty
Here’s how to deal with a bounty: Some contracts in Warzone make you a bounty hunter or the hunted, depending on your perspective. If you are marked for elimination, the game will tell you how far away the hunter is from you.
Take a look at the left side of the screen; if someone is searching for you, a type of threat level appears. This bar indicates whether your hunter is nearby:
- 1 yellow bar: the hunter is more than 250 meters away
- 2 orange bars: the hunter is approximately 250 – 50 meters away
- 3 red bars: the hunter is right next to you, around 50 meters away
The distances for the threat level are currently just estimates from Ace. Nevertheless, they provide good indications and should help you decide between fight or flight.
Bonus Tip – The Riddle of Armor Penetration Solved
This is why you take damage to your health despite armor: We recently reported on 7 changes that came into the game with Season 3 without patch notes. One of them was that you could take damage to your health in certain cases despite your armor.
Ace suspected that there were special bullets behind this. He can now confirm that the special ammunition can ignore armor. Full metal bullets are not capable of this.
