Actually, you can’t go wrong in Diablo Immortal. If you just play, you will always progress somehow. But if you’re looking for the most efficient way to improve, there are several things to keep in mind.
What is the “wrong” way? As YouTuber DM: Diablo Immortal explains, mindlessly grinding Paragon in the open world was the best way to improve. There are specific farm spots in the game where farming is particularly effective.
DM is one of the biggest YouTubers focusing on Diablo Immortal and has already invested dozens of hours and thousands of euros to improve. He has previously given practical tips, such as how to farm “wrong” or showcased an absolutely insane PvP build that deals no damage.
In one of his latest videos, DM explains that simply leveling in Diablo Immortal is no longer the best way to become stronger. This is due to how the game has evolved.
This is the best way to improve: According to DM, you should now focus mainly on dungeons. The reason is that for faster progression, you should now pay attention to the increase of your combat rating.
With a higher combat rating, you become stronger in PvE and can farm more easily, thus progressing faster and improving even further. Dungeons are the ideal grind for two reasons:
- you can only obtain set items that you need here
- dungeons advance the battle pass, through which you level up passively
Thus, you will simultaneously receive better gear and experience, for which you would otherwise need approximately the same amount of time in the open world. The fact that this method has only recently become better is due to Diablo Immortal’s catch-up system.

Dungeons are the new top tip for farming
Why are the old methods not good anymore? The speed at which you increase your Paragon is determined by the server Paragon:
- currently, the server Paragon is at 148 (August 13)
- the Paragon increases by 2 every day
- if you are far below the server Paragon, you will receive up to 400% more experience
- if you are far above it, you will receive significantly less experience; everything takes longer
There are even rumors of a limit where you no longer receive any experience. This is said to be at 16 levels above the server Paragon. Your Paragon determines which gear you can wear and at which hell level you can farm.
Stronger loot is only available at higher hell levels, and currently, hell 4 is possible. The next higher and highest level, hell 5, requires a Paragon of 240 to be farmed reliably.
Limited by the server Paragon, this can only be reached at the earliest 8 days (equivalent to 16 levels) before the required Paragon:
- a server Paragon of 224 is required to reach 240
- currently, we are at 148
- this corresponds to a difference of 76 levels
- since the server Paragon increases by 2 every day, Paragon 240 will only be reachable in 38 days, which is on September 20
During this time, it no longer makes sense to farm pure Paragon, but rather to focus on increasing your combat rating through dungeons.

What if I’m not that far yet? DM explains that, as a new player, you can level up significantly faster than hardcore grinders at the moment. Within a few days, you can reach Paragon 150, something others now needed several months for.

Hell 5 is said to go up to Paragon 600 – meaning that it won’t really be “done” until nearly a year after the game’s release.
