One of the latest major dungeons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the Endless Tower. We will reveal whether it is worth it – and what you need to accomplish there.
After you have gained the ability to fly across the world with Esquie in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you will unlock a lot of new areas. Some of them only have individual items, but behind others are really long dungeons and tough challenges. One of the most demanding is the “Endless Tower”.
Where can you find the tower? You can discover the tower all the way in the west of the world map. On the map, it looks like a large golden circle with a “C” inside. You need to fly a little upwards to find a landing position. After entering the tower, you will first find yourself in the entrance area. Continue walking “back” in the image to get from the entrance area to the actual tower.
When should you enter the tower? In principle, the tower can be accessed starting from level 45+, as soon as you have completed Act 2 and Esquie has learned to fly. However, some fights require very high character stats, and a level of 80+ is definitely recommended.
You can also simply return to the tower “every few levels” and see if you are equipped for the most current fight. It is not necessary to complete the tower in one go, and it serves well as an “in-between” activity if you just want to complete a few quick fights.
As always in Expedition 33, you can generally succeed in all fights regardless of your character stats if you are true masters at dodging and parrying. If that is not the case, a high level is certainly recommended.
What do you do in the Endless Tower? The Endless Tower offers very little in terms of exploration, but a lot for those who enjoy the combat system. In the central room of the tower, you will find a screen that you can interact with. Here you can complete fights sequentially and unlock new fights. These are divided into 10 stages, each with 3 challenges. On the 11th stage, there are 3 particularly tough boss tests. In total, there are 33 fights that you can master.
You unlock the fights sequentially. After “Stage 1, Fight 1”, you can then tackle “Stage 1, Fight 2” and so on. It is not possible to skip fights.
Endless Tower in Expedition 33 – All important rewards
What rewards are there in the tower? The rewards are relatively generous, considering that you hardly need to travel. Each successful fight rewards you with a Lumina point and Chroma catalysts, which you can use to upgrade your weapons. In addition, there is an extra reward at the end of a stage, meaning after every third fight. This can be a powerful Picto but also new hairstyles.
Here we list all the special rewards you can get in the hardest fights:
| Stage in the tower | Recommended level | Reward |
| Stage 1, Challenge 3 | 50 | Picto: Greater Defenceless |
| Stage 2, Challenge 3 | 55 | Picto: Energising Rush |
| Stage 3, Challenge 3 | 60 | Clea hairstyle for Lune |
| Stage 4, Challenge 3 | 65 | Time Tint Hairstyle: Double-braided white hair for Maelle |
| Stage 5, Challenge 3 | 70 | Picto: Charging Critical Hairstyle: Rebel white hair for Lune |
| Stage 6, Challenge 3 | 75 | Picto: Critical Weakness Hairstyle: Messy white bun for Sciel |
| Stage 7, Challenge 3 | 80 | Picto: Fueling Break Hairstyle Clea hairstyles for Sciel |
| Stage 8, Challenge 3 | 85 | Empowering Tint |
| Stage 9, Challenge 3 | 90 | Picto: Rush on Powerful Hairstyle Expedition White for Verso |
| Stage 10, Challenge 3 | 90 | Picto: Greater Powerless |
| Stage 11, Challenge 3 | 90+ | Clair outfit for Verso Perfect Chroma catalyst 5 Lumina points (instead of 1) |
If you manage to complete all the fights, talk to the ghostly woman next to the portrait afterward. She will grant you the new “Ponytail (Maelle)” hairstyle. You can then wear Maelle’s classic hairstyle with white hair color – a real eye-catcher.
What else do you need to know about the tower? The Endless Tower is completely optional. You don’t have to feel any pressure to complete it, and fully completing the tower has no impact on the story. You don’t even need to approach the tower before the last story mission in Lumiere. You can return after the end of the story and still master all the tests you have not yet completed.
If you are defeated in a challenge, by the way, it is not a game over. You will simply receive the message that the challenge has failed and can try it again immediately without having to load a save file.
The Endless Tower is just one of many secrets that the developers have hidden in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Some of these are even hidden right at the start of the game, so you can miss them forever within the first 10 minutes.
