Expedition 33: All the Pantomimes and How to Defeat Them Effectively

The mimes are strange creatures in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. We will reveal to you where you can find them all – and what they bring you.

In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, there are plenty of hidden rewards and secret bosses. Among the most interesting mini-bosses are the mimes, which you can find in many areas of the game world. You can defeat each of them only once, but they come with a special reward, which is mostly cosmetic in nature. Special outfits for your characters are waiting … at least if you manage to overcome them.

Defeating mimes – that’s their weakness

How to best defeat mimes? The mimes in the game differ only slightly. They all use the same abilities. The only difference is that some mimes are accompanied by Nevrons or have shields.

Mimes have no identifiable weakness and take extremely little damage at the beginning of the battle. They are virtually impossible to kill until you have stunned them at least once. You can fill the “Break” gauge with abilities, but the best way is to parry the mime’s attacks and counterattack. This nearly completely fills the Break gauge.

Mimes predominantly use two combos. One is a rather slow one in which the mime jumps at you and then performs two punches with their hands and one with their head. This combo is fairly easy to counter, as the world briefly slows down before the hits land.

The “weird” combo, where the mime summons a hammer, is significantly harder to parry. That consists of 4 hits that happen in sets of 2 hits in very rapid succession. It is considerably easier to dodge these hits.

Once you have broken a mime, they are not only stunned for a few turns, but they also take multiples of the normal damage. Generally, you should be able to defeat the mime before it awakens from its stun.

Have you found all the mimes in the game? How did you find the rewards for defeating the mimes and are you now permanently carrying a baguette on your back to finish off the painter in true French style?
Even if you have found all the mimes, you probably missed some of the other secrets in the first 10 minutes.
