The new Season 9 in Destiny 2 has apparently caused some bugs. One of them lets you take out almost any enemy with a single shot using a special weapon – even armored foes.
This is the weapon in question: The corresponding weapon is the exotic bow “Wish-Ender”. This is part of the Forsaken expansion and has two special attributes:
- Queen’s Wrath: Marks enemies behind walls when aiming with a fully drawn bow.
- Broadhead: Arrows deal damage both upon entry and exit; can penetrate multiple targets.
The bow is tied to a longer questline. How to obtain Wish-Ender, you can find out in our guide. Since the start of Season 9, the bow seems to be bugged.
Wish-Ender too strong – Fix likely coming soon
This is the problem: At the moment, the perk “Broadhead” does not seem to function as it should. Instead of dealing double damage to enemies (upon entry and exit), it deals up to four or even five times the damage.
This results in damage being tripled, in some cases even almost quadrupled. For many enemies, including armored foes or enemies with shields, this is a oneshot. For enemies with a yellow health bar (not bosses), two shots are sufficient, while champions need only four to five.
On its own, this is good for players, but the bug can also cause the perk not to trigger at all, thereby halving the damage.
When will this be fixed? Currently, it is not known when Bungie will fix this issue. However, shortly after the patch for Season 9, there was already another hotfix yesterday, on December 11.
Apparently, the developers are already working to rectify the worst bugs again. And this one is likely part of that, because if it works in PvP, many players will be quite upset.
Whether there will be penalties for players using the bow is also still unclear. However, it is unlikely since the bug is not intentionally triggered (no “exploit”), but simply occurs when firing the weapon.
