Sony is now bringing many of their PlayStation exclusive titles to PC. After The Last of Us and God of War, another old icon is coming to Steam. The PS5 hit Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart will soon receive a new platform.
What kind of game is this? Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart is the latest part of the Ratchet and Clank
series. The game is a 3D action platformer that mixes jump & run
gameplay with creative firearms.
As Ratchet or Rivet, you are traveling across various planets to defeat an evil robot ruler. You jump and shoot your way through different areas. Each area is unique and has various gimmicks.
Instead of classic rifles and pistols, there are laser weapons, sprinklers that cover enemies with plants, and drills that shoot out of the ground at enemies.
The story resembles animated films, is presented cinematically, and looks really good.
The true star of the game is the Rift mechanic, which according to Sony is only possible with next-gen hardware. In the middle of the action, so-called rifts
open, allowing you to jump into new areas or planets. All this happens seamlessly and without loading times.

A PC version with new features
When will the game be released on PC? The game will be released on July 26, 2023, on Steam and in the Epic Game Store. You can already pre-order it on both platforms. This game joins a lineup of games that previously only appeared on PS5.
What features does the PC version offer? There are several new features in the PC version.
- Support for ultrawide screens
- Unlocked framerate
- Performance-boosting technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, and Intel XeSS
- Ray tracing features
Hopefully, the PC version works well, too. The Last of Us Part 1 received many bad reviews on Steam due to its performance.
How was the game rated on the PS5? On Metacritic, the PS5 version of Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart has a rating of 88 points. And users love it too, giving the game an average rating of 8.5/10.
