The former professional player Doug “Censor” Martin preferred to dedicate his life to Call of Duty rather than engage with women. From his perspective, he did everything right by focusing on his career. The women would come when one is successful.

The number of young men without sex has nearly tripled in the last 10 years.
This is partly because young people today have other alternatives to sex at night, quotes a psychologist.
In 2018, young people would play video games, watch Netflix or engage on social media. They had many more alternatives [to sex] than before.
Additionally, people are starting their careers later and living longer with their parents: A job and a place of one’s own are important prerequisites for a relationship and thus for sex.
Rather train than kiss girls
Censor shares from his life: In a series of tweets, former Call of Duty professional Doug “Censor” Martin (24) reacts to an article on the topic and describes how he navigated through life.
Censor sees no reason for concern in the numbers:
“My parents were also concerned that I hadn’t kissed a girl during my school years. But for me, it was more important to be the number 1 worldwide in Call of Duty – because that opportunity wouldn’t last long. I’m so glad I made that decision.”
Censor advises: The ex-professional states that the lesson from the tweet is to focus on one’s career – the rest will fall into place.
After a few poke fun at him, he responds:
“You’re looking at this all wrong. You shouldn’t neglect your career for women. If you focus on your career, the women will come to you.”
What’s more important for him is the focus on the career, not abstaining from women.
According to Censor, the trick is to focus on one’s career and chase one’s dreams. Then the rest will come naturally.
He has participated in 4 major tournaments, won them all, and was number 1 in the world.
A fan then says to him: “I don’t understand why you’re getting so much criticism. You’ve built a fan base and established a career. You’re living the life you always wanted.”
Censor responds: “AND I also got the girl.”
This is how others react: Opinions are quite mixed:
- Some respect Censor for his attitude, stating he completely pursued his career
- others say there needs to be time for both – social relationships are important and should not be neglected
- especially the statement, “that the women will come eventually” is considered poorly phrased – it sounds as if he’s waiting for a woman who is only interested in what he has achieved: a so-called “gold digger”
This is what the professional is doing now: The former Call of Duty professional now has a YouTube channel with around 2.6 million subscribers. There he regularly uploads videos showing what he does in the gym.
