Changes are coming to Evolve: The monster Wraith is too strong and can too easily escape the dome. Therefore, Turtle Rock is planning changes.
The Wraith monster was already too powerful in the beta. While the other monsters were in the “You win some, you lose some” category, “Wraith” had a 70% win rate. This is mainly because the Wraith is so excellent at avoiding trouble or escaping from it.
Evolve is designed so that as the match duration increases, the balance shifts away from the Hunters and in favor of the monsters. And since Wraith is a master at avoiding early conflicts, her chances of success are apparently much higher.

The best Wraith players listen closely
In the official forum, one of the co-founders of Turtle Rock is now addressing the issue. The data indeed indicated that Wraith reaches the highest evolution stage 3 more often than other monsters. A contributing factor: When she is trapped in the dome, she takes less damage than other monsters. Apparently due to her outstanding stealth abilities.
However, overall, Wraith does not seem to be trapped in the dome often enough. It is believed that this is because experienced Wraith players recognize exactly the sound the dome device makes when it is deployed. A top player can escape it by immediately using their movement abilities when they hear the sound. Therefore, Turtle Rock is currently working on removing the sound effects for the dome.
We have an audio change we’re going to try with the dome. The monster will no longer hear the Trapper dome VO and won’t hear the piece of gear fly up. Experienced monsters are running as soon as they hear the sound. Wraith can get out 100% of the time with one or two warps and a warpblast, even if the Hunter is ontop of her. So if we don’t play the sounds, she won’t be as aware when it goes up.
