In Evolve Stage 2, there are fresh contents. The developers are throwing a new map into the rotation.
Bathe in lava with friends
Evolve is currently in its second beta and is already holding a “Month of Madness”, where the developers release new content every week. This week features a fresh map. Veterans will likely recognize the map at first glance, as it is a variation of “Orbital Drill”. Instead of a toxic swamp area, the zone in the “Cataclysm” map is now flooded with lava. As if that wasn’t enough chaos, meteors rain down at regular intervals, causing damage upon impact (orange) or creating a healing field (green).
Both monsters and hunters can benefit from both effects and use them to their advantage. It gets particularly exciting once the monster is trapped in the dome – because then the rate of falling meteors increases drastically, so one has to pay attention not only to the opponent but also to the sky.
At the same time, players now have received a first form of the coop mode. It is now possible to specifically compete as a hunting team against an AI monster. Those who don’t have three friends at hand can simply activate the group search to find like-minded players. For this purpose, the AI has also been significantly improved, so that the monster dynamically adjusts to the strength of the opposing team.
Apart from these new features, there are numerous bug fixes and balance adjustments. After the last nerf, the Wraith gets a bit more power back, and the slowdowns of many trappers have been slightly reduced.
The changes currently apply only to PC. It will likely be several weeks before a PS4 or Xbox One version of “Evolve Stage 2” is released.
