In Evolve , two of the hunters are rumored to have a little affair, at least according to the fans who imagined a little flirtation between the Trapper Abe and the Medic Caira. The voice actors used this fan theory as an opportunity to clarify something.
The fandom loves to attribute a romantic relationship to two popular characters, even when they have nothing to do with each other, especially in an otherwise unromantic and asexual setting. This is also the case with the new team shooter Evolve.
It is alleged that the laid-back Trapper Abe has his eye on the pretty Medic Caira. He supposedly has some flirt lines in the “Drop-Ship Banter” before a mission starts, and there are hints in the Wiki that this burly daredevil has amorous intentions towards the somewhat spoiled earth woman Caira.
These fan theories greatly amused the voice actors of Abe and Caira. According to reports, both are huge Evolve fans. The two professionals then decided to have some fun and recorded statements from Abe and Caira about their relationship. And there’s quite a bit of awkward murmuring involved. One of the Evolve authors posted the additionally recorded dialogue of the two on reddit with the comment: “I have nothing to do with it! Actors are just crazy.”
