The Pokémon GO Festival is coming next month, and the images of the event already provide interesting insights. We will tell you what is known so far about the spawns.
Here is what it’s about: Which Pokémon will appear at the GO Fest is mostly a secret. In our interview with Niantic, the developers revealed that the images for the event should give interesting insights into the spawns.
MeinMMO presents all the Pokémon that have been featured in the images so far and looks into the possible theories behind their appearance at the GO Fest.
The Images of the GO Fest and Their Pokémon
How many images are there? Currently, there are 2 real images for the GO Fest. However, there are also more images circulating that could be related to the GO Fest.
The First Official Image for the GO Fest
This is the image in question: This image introduced the GO Fest at Home. It shows a garden and a total of 5 Pokémon:
Pikachu: This Pokémon is sure to make an appearance at the GO Fest. It has been the case in previous years as well. Additionally, Pikachu will also appear with special outfits during the three-week event marathon leading up to the GO Fest.
We will probably also meet Pikachu with a special hat at the GO Fest.
Myrapla: This Grass-type Pokémon is already available in its Shiny version in the game. It would fit perfectly if this monster also appears at the GO Fest.
There will be an increased Shiny rate, and anyone who does not yet have a Myrapla will get their chance there.
Pummeluff: This Pokémon is already available as Shiny, but only through the evolution of Shiny Fluffeluff. In the wild, it cannot be caught as Shiny yet.
At the GO Fest, however, that could change. For the first time, Shiny Pummeluff might appear in the wild as well.
Alolan Exeggutor: This Pokémon fits well with the GO Fest. Currently, it is only obtainable from raids, and it could well show up at the GO Fest. It can also be Shiny – so it would fit.
Kinoso: This Pokémon raises the most questions. Kinoso cannot yet be Shiny. Additionally, it evolves from Kigugi, which only appears from eggs or incense. Whether Kinoso can be caught as Shiny upon evolution remains questionable.
It could very well be that Kinoso is introduced into the game as a new Shiny. After all, it is otherwise quite useless and consumes many balls – not very beneficial for the GO Fest.
The Second Official Image for the GO Fest
This is the image in question: The second image was released when the details about the GO Fest were announced. It shows 10 Pokémon that will likely play a role in the GO Fest:
These Pokémon are known from the first image: With Pikachu and Alolan Exeggutor, there are 2 monsters that are already seen in the first image.
Unown: This Pokémon is one of the faces of the GO Fest. The otherwise rare monster regularly appears at live events, and the different letters always spell a word.
In the picture, you can see a “G”. This could stand for “GO Fest”. However, another word is also possible.
Eevee: Next to Pikachu, Eevee is probably the most well-known Pokémon in the game. Last year, it was also seen at the GO Fest. There, it wore a flower crown.
A similar event-Eevee could be expected this year as well.
Hooho: This otherwise rare Pokémon is sure to please many players. Hooho belongs to the rarest Pokémon in the game and can also be Shiny.
It is very likely that Hooho will be found at the GO Fest. The Shiny form will certainly be highly sought after by trainers.
Sengo and Vipitis: The two regional Pokémon have already been confirmed by Niantic for the GO Fest. We German players can expect Vipitis as a regional Pokémon.
Both monsters can also be Shiny. So one can hope to catch the regional Pokémon there in their shiny version as well.
Charizard: There are several speculations about this. Charizard is one of the Pokémon that also has a Mega Evolution. These special evolutions were announced recently – possibly, we will see a Mega Charizard at the GO Fest.
Moreover, Niantic revealed that remote raids will play a significant role. Perhaps you will also find a Charizard there and be able to battle it.
Snorlax: The Snorlax in the picture is sleeping. This may indicate the return of the sleeping Snorlax, which we had everywhere in 2019.
Alternatively, one could also expect Shiny Snorlax. That would be a real hit and would fit well with the GO Fest.
Lanturn: Shiny Lanturn was introduced with the Safari Zone in April. It is entirely plausible that it will therefore appear more frequently at the GO Fest.
It belongs to the rarer Shinys in the game and would fit well at the GO Fest.
What else is known about the GO Fest?
This is what the upcoming event reveals: In July, you need to complete various special research tasks for 3 weeks. If enough trainers complete the research, the following Pokémon will be available at the GO Fest:
- Palimpalim
- Mamolida
- Chansey
- Kastadur
- Alolan Sleima
- Alolan Marowak
- Togetic
- Dratini
- Lichtel
What about Team Rocket? The GO Fest will likely also bring a new feature related to Team Rocket. If you take a closer look at the images for the GO Fest, you can see a small hot air balloon from Team GO Rocket.
This also fits with the findings of the data miners, who found the Rocket balloon in the last update.
You should keep in mind: Currently, only a few Pokémon mentioned here are confirmed. However, all of them are part of the images or tasks from Niantic. So one can reasonably expect to find them at the GO Fest.
When is the GO Fest? The big live event takes place on July 25 and 26. However, you can only participate if you purchase a ticket.
