In Fortnite, it is now clear that a live event will soon be waiting for you at the end of Season 2. Hints suggest, however, that more destruction is coming your way than you think. An old companion from Chapter 1 could give the underground organization IO the final blow, but will that be enough?
What do we know so far about the live event? A new live event is in preparation, and so far the Imagined Order does not want to give up. They are bringing out all the guns and have built an apocalypse machine. But that’s not all that is known. Epic has released some hints that make the live event even more interesting than initially believed.
- A video with an audio track has been released, in which the face of the Mecha Leader can be seen at the end
- The Mecha Leader was an ultimate weapon in Chapter 1, used against a giant monster
- New comics in collaboration with Marvel show Doctor Doom with Sloane (the IO leader) together. Another comic shows the Mecha Leader assembled and ready for a fight.
- New leaks and hints like a loading screen and data in Fortnite suggest that something is happening in space or even the whole map is being shot into space.
A devastating battle for realities begins
How might the live event play out? After the Seven have pushed back the Imagined Order and freed all occupied POIs, Sloane has ordered the construction of a giant machine. After the Update 20.40, this has been placed next to Tilted Towers and is now charging up until the live event.
However, the Seven do not give up so easily. In one mission, you have to fish for Mech parts out of the water for Jonesy. He will be reconstructed, but the Seven need a banned member of the group to control this giant robot.
Therefore, Jonesy tries to bridge the gap between the Paradigm and the rest of the now six-member gang. A big battle is ahead of you, but an anti-hero might also stand in your way.
Doctor Doom was shown in the new comic episode of the “Fortnite: Zero War” cover. In this, he stands behind Sloane and in front of the giant bear robot.
It is unclear whether he now works for IO or only deceives them to side with the Seven.
What does this mean? According to all indications, a great, final battle is ahead of you. If the construction of the Mecha Leader really takes place, the extent of the damages from the battle is unforeseeable. These could even be so devastating that the map could be shot into outer space.
Despite this, the conflict between the Seven and the IO seems staged. The battles for the POIs of the occupied IO camps have gone too smoothly. Every battle has been overwhelmingly won by the futuristic freedom fighters.
It is conceivable that an intrigue is being spun against you. The two sisters who belong to the Seven also have no records in the IO database, as they were deleted by Genõ, an unknown being from the IO. This is unusual, as the Imagined Order, according to Jonesy, never deletes data or directories of opponents.
The reason why this happened is unclear, but it strongly suggests that you, as loop walkers, are not allowed to learn anything about them that could expose the sisters. Perhaps they are also just double agents leading the Seven into a trap.
When does the live event start? According to Fortnite Intel, a leaker from Fortnite, a “live event” countdown will soon begin. This will run until June 3rd, as that is when the live event starts.
So stay tuned, as you can definitely expect some downtime after the event, followed by a new season with many changes and cool new skins.
