The new MMO New World finally celebrated its release in September 2021. We have summarized everything about the new PvE and PvP content, the beta, and the release.
Update November 1, 2021: We have added some information after the release of New World and about the first major patch.
What is New World? The new open-world MMO from Amazon takes place in the Age of Discovery, set in the 17th century, on the fictional island “Aeternum”, which is located in the middle of the Atlantic. On the newly discovered continent by settlers, all kinds of supernatural dangers lurk, originating from mysterious creatures and other players.
The MMO offers you:
- 3 factions, each with their own play styles that fight against each other
- Strongholds that can be captured, expanded, and defended
- PvE tasks and quests
- Individual character progression without classes through 60 levels, attribute points, and skill trees
- Player housing with decorations that can also be found in the open world
- A crafting system where you can master all types and become the best craftsman in the world
- A lore surrounding the rare mineral Azoth, which can grant immortality
- There is now also a first dungeon that has been introduced for New World
New World was already tested from September 2018 to June 2019 in an alpha version. At that time, the focus was on PvP and there were survival elements. However, many changes have been made since then, which we will present to you in more detail throughout the article.
