In Destiny 2, many players celebrated the launch of Witch Queen. The Guardians had to deal with Void 3.0 as they adjusted their favorite loadout to their playstyle. However, while Titans and Warlocks can shine in combat, Hunters now risk boycotting their class.
What’s wrong with the Hunters? The Hunters did not have as strong a start in Witch Queen as the other two classes. The reason for this is nerfs announced before the big DLC. Bungie removed some of the most important effects from the most popular Nightstalker super.
Now that the patch is out, Hunters are feeling the full brunt of the change. Many Hunter mains are switching to Warlocks or Titans to finally do useful things in combat instead of constantly hiding.
Hunters switch to other classes out of frustration
How dissatisfied the Hunters are was evident on Twitter. Senior Community Manager “dmg04” asked the community, among other things, how they feel about the changes to Void 3.0. There was a wide range of comments from Warlocks and Titans who are excited. Hunters, on the other hand, mostly agreed in their opinion: The changes are not good.
The Twitter user “auroraesilverEX” is upset about the noticeable changes. He accuses the sandbox team of not understanding what role the Hunter plays in endgame content in Destiny 2. The Hunter needs more ways to support his fellow Guardians instead of being turned into a robot for invisible maneuvers.
What do other Hunters say? On reddit, even a Guardian has ended their existence as a Hunter main. He switched to Warlock because invisibility simply isn’t enough. Warlocks can make a significant impact in combat with their aspects and fragments, but Hunters are now not viable with their invisible abilities. It sometimes feels like they are actually ‘invisible’ and can’t achieve anything significant with their abilities except not being there.
Reddit user “combo164” has even tried to create something decent with various exotics of the Nightstalker, but nothing excited him. As long as Bungie doesn’t give the Hunters something to make them competitive, more and more Guardians will switch to another class.
If nothing changes, there will eventually be an era without Hunters, or what do you think? How do you feel about the changes? Have you tried the Hunter? Do you think the users are exaggerating, or do you agree that Hunters have no chance against the other classes? Let us know!
