Everyone is raving about the new action RPG on Steam: Play it for 6 hours for free to see if the great reviews are justified

The creators of Persona have achieved a masterpiece with their new action RPG. At least that’s what many fans believe when looking at the reviews on Steam and Metacritic. Those who prefer to make their own judgment can try out the entire prologue for free.

What game is it about? It is about Metaphor: ReFantazio – a JRPG by Atlus, which features three stalwarts of the popular Persona series. Katsura Hashino is on board as Director, Shigenori Soejima as Character Designer, and Shoji Meguro as Composer.

Metaphor: ReFantazio will be released on October 11, 2024, for PC on Steam and in the Microsoft Store, as well as for the consoles PS4 / PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. You can try the game for free as part of a demo.

How is the game being received so far? According to initial reviews, Metaphor: ReFantazio does not need to hide behind the Persona series. The game is already being showered with praise: On Metacritic, the game scores 94 out of 100 points – notably, this is the Metascore, based on press reviews.

GamesRadar+ describes Metaphor: ReFantazio as the “triumphant evolution of Atlus’ finest,” while Checkpoint Gaming even calls it Atlus’ “Magnum Opus,” their most significant work. The user ratings for the demo on Steam are also “very positive.”

What does the demo include? The demo encompasses the entire prologue of the game. Depending on your playstyle, you can complete the prologue in about 6 hours. If you skip many dialogues, you will finish faster – but if you engage in more battles, you might take up to 8 hours.

You can play the demo as many times as you like. Your progress will also carry over to the full version, so you won’t have to start over at release. The prologue demo is available on all platforms where you can purchase the game.
