The Hallowed Blight in Dead by Daylight is notably absent. Of all games, a horror game is postponing its Halloween event.
Actually, the Halloween event, called “Hallowed Blight”, should have been running in Dead by Daylight for several days now. Players should have long been able to collect skins and explore the new Archives. Actually.
But it seems that the patch did not go as well as both developers and players hoped. The update has been postponed and it looks like it will take a while.
What happened? About a week ago, the developers of Dead by Daylight spontaneously postponed and canceled the “Hallowed Blight” event. The corresponding “Mid Chapter Patch” still has too many bugs and some “unexpected difficulties” have now meant that neither the patch nor the event can go live. They wanted to keep the community updated and are working hard to release the update as soon as possible.
When will the patch come? There is still no concrete date for that. In the meantime, the developers released another update and explained that they have fixed many bugs, but some remain. They do not want to rule out a “release this week”, but it did not sound really convincing.
Halloween only at Christmas? Frustration is spreading in the Dead by Daylight community, and many players find it incomprehensible that a horror game must do without a Halloween event. There is currently a deluge of criticism, but also funny (and nasty) memes in the Dead by Daylight subreddit.
Some fear that the Halloween event will not be activated until the end of November or even December.
What is included in the Halloween event? The “Hallowed Blight” event is probably the most popular event in Dead by Daylight, as killers and survivors can earn some really cool skins that are particularly impressive and creepy. They are among the creepiest and most elaborate skins in the community. Additionally, during the event, players receive more blood points through certain offerings, making the grind for the best perks easier.
Event will be made up: At least the developers have confirmed that the event will be made up and no time will be lost. Even though Hallowed Blight is starting late, it will have its full duration. This also applies to the new feature of the Rifts. They will be active for 10 weeks, no matter when the starting signal is given.
