It’s getting gross in Dead by Daylight. In the latest skins, 4 people have been turned into a monstrosity – but there are also some nice new features.
Various games are currently hosting Halloween events, after all, the scariest time of the year has begun. The horror game Dead by Daylight is also included, which has just received its latest patch. Update 4.3.0 is a so-called mid-chapter patch, which primarily brings improvements in the form of graphics updates, balancing, and new skins. And these skins are mainly one thing: Damn gross.
What are these skins? The skins belong to the “Hallowed Blight” event, which takes place every year in Dead by Daylight. Here, there are always particularly gross or terrible skins. Presumably, part of the skins will also be unlockable through the Halloween event or the new Tome, without spending real money. This was at least the case in previous years. Players could earn one of the skin sets, while the rest had to be purchased with in-game or premium currency.
Why do the skins look so gross? Halloween is always a special event for Dead by Daylight. The strange, creepy plants have been an important part of the story surrounding the strange entity for years. The latest killer, the Blight, has taken advantage of these plants and created a serum from them, which he ultimately injected into himself. Before that, he experimented with the serum on other killers, who became disgustingly mutated. This year, there are three new additions to the Blight:
- Scorched Ghost Face
- True Blight
- Chimeric Horde
You can see the skins in a small presentation trailer:
Especially the Legion skin (Chimeric Horde) is particularly gross. The Legion actually consists of four different teenagers, but in this skin, they have all been combined. With a face on the back of his head, two more faces on his stomach, and a third arm, this killer is now even creepier than before.
But the Blight skin is also eerie and makes it even more absurd looking, when the killer has to run against walls again.
What’s in the patch? Update 4.3.0 also brought the graphical overhaul of the maps of the MacMillan Estate. The maps have been brought up to the latest technology and now look significantly nicer but also darker, as this trailer shows.
Lastly, there is also a new Tome with many new challenges, tasks, and unlockable cosmetics. Those who don’t care about that can at least earn blood points to unlock more items and perks and to level up their characters faster.
What do you think of the new skins? Do you find them appealing and fitting? Or are they just not your thing?
