The Eververse in Destiny 2 offers all kinds of cool cosmetics. However, a major community wish remains unaddressed since Destiny 2: customizing your own character, says our author Sven.
This is what’s in the Eververse of Destiny 2: The Eververse, the in-game store of Destiny 2, now has an impressive pool of cosmetic items that Guardians can mostly earn in-game – even without spending real money.
From shaders and emotes to ships and ghost shells, as well as weapon and armor ornaments, Tess Everis’s store offers numerous ways to give your Guardian a unique visual touch.

However, an important feature and simultaneously one of the biggest community wishes since the launch of Destiny is nowhere to be found, even though it would fit perfectly into the shop.
Extended Character Customization through the Eververse – Why Not?
What surprises me about the Eververse: Destiny 2 invests many resources into the cosmetic items offered through the Eververse. The range of cosmetics is now enormous. Some of the coolest Sparrow, weapon, and armor designs can only be found in Tess’s shop.
With that said, I’m even more surprised that the store has not yet offered any options for customizing the look of the actual character.
After all, fans have been begging for such an option since the launch of Destiny 1. Some would be willing to spend real money for it.
The page Forbes outlines a way to solve this problem in a new article – voicing what I feel as well.
This is the problem with the character editor in Destiny 2: The character editor in Destiny 2 does not offer many options for customizing your Guardian according to your own preferences.

Players were already wishing for more extensive options during Destiny 1.
It was all the more frustrating when it became clear that the character editor of Destiny 2 is identical to that of its predecessor and offers no new options.
Even the ability to change one’s appearance afterward, which has always been at the top of the fans’ wish list, is still not possible today.
Many are unhappy with the appearance of their Guardian, but they cannot make any adjustments – unless they create an entirely new character.

That’s why the Eververse misses a big opportunity: This opportunity could be seized by the Eververse. The in-game shop seems predestined to offer such content, whether for real money, in-game currency “Glimmer,” or a combination of both.
Many Guardians, myself included, would love to give their character a special hairstyle, a voice, a scar or two, a particularly cool feature, or an entirely new face. Expanded editor options in the Eververse would make this possible.
There could be a first character makeover for free in the form of a token for each character, with additional ones available for purchase with real money or Glimmer.
Additional hairstyles, face paints, features, or special faces could also be offered for purchase with real money and in-game currency through the Eververse.
This would fulfill a long-standing wish for many fans. Players who are not interested in such an option would simultaneously miss nothing, as these are purely cosmetic customization options.

And Bungie could generate additional revenue from microtransactions, without which Destiny 2 apparently doesn’t seem to work.
That does not mean I am a fan of microtransactions in full-price titles. On the contrary.
But if it apparently doesn’t work completely without microtransactions, a harmless and purely cosmetic option like this would be something I could get on board with – especially since comparable options are commonplace in numerous games.
And if there is something particularly cool for the character, I personally would also be willing to spend a high amount of Glimmer or a few euros to make my Guardian stand out from the rest.
What do you think? Would you be happy about extended character options in the Eververse and possibly even spend real money on it? Or would that be a definite no-go for you?
