Recently, there has been little news about the fantasy MMORPG Everquest Next. However, studio president of the developers, John Smedley, assures: It will not be vaporware.
“Vaporware” is a product that is announced with much fanfare but ultimately never appears. There was a lot of fuss about Everquest Next, the third game in the prestigious Everquest franchise. A release date is still a long way off. And in recent months, it has also been quiet about the ambitious project that aimed to not only change the landscape with a destructible environment but to transform the entire MMORPG landscape.
In an interview with MassivelyOp, John Smedley now addresses the concerns of fans and the mockery from non-fans: “Everquest Next is in great shape, it is still being developed.” Right now, they are working on Qeynos, and the city looks fantastic: “When we are ready to show something, it will blow you away what we and the users have created.”
And for those who think Everquest Next is vaporware? “Whatever. Look at the history of our company. There is nothing about vaporware… we deliver!”
