In Pokémon GO, players can look forward to a new event surrounding the Let’s GO games. There is also a new shiny family.
A few days ago, the Japanese Twitter account of Pokémon GO announced an event for the release of the Let’s GO games. Now players can look forward to more shinies and increased Kanto spawns. Additionally, there are new field research tasks for trainers.
We will show you what the new event has to offer and which new shinies are in the game.
New Field Research and Shiny Magnetilo
The event is held around the release of the Let’s GO games, which were released on November 16.
Kanto spawns are increased: Since you can only catch first-generation Pokémon in the Let’s GO games, there are now also increased Kanto Pokémon to catch in Pokémon GO. These include Magnetilo, Traumato, and Pikachu. You can then trade these with the Let’s GO games.
Shiny Magnetilo: Along with the increased spawns of Magnetilo, you can now also catch this Pokémon as shiny. Magneton and the yet-to-be-released evolution Magnezone can also be shiny.
New hats in the shop: You can get free hats of Evoli and Pikachu in the shop.
New Field Research
There are new field research tasks around the event. The field research also helps you to complete the special research around Meltan.

- Reward: Encounter with a Sichlor
- Let’s GO: Hatch two eggs
- Reward: Encounter with an Aerodactyl
- Let’s GO: Land a great throw
- Reward: Encounter with a Ditto (disguised as Taubsi)
About two weeks left: The field research will remain in Pokémon GO until November 27, so about two weeks.
