A new hotfix will be released for Borderlands 3 on the night of January 31, bringing an event and minor bug fixes. Along with the patch notes, a new mode has also been announced, which is set to become a permanent part of the game starting next week.
This event will be a dedicated mode: Currently, a special event is taking place in Borderlands 3, where the Maliwan Takedown challenge has been scaled down. Instead of 4 players, the mode can temporarily be completed solo.
The event has been very well received by players, leading the developers to decide to make it a permanent addition to the game starting today.
With the patch next week, the old Maliwan Takedown will return, but under the new name “True Takedown Mode.” This will again be designed for 4 players and will be a significant challenge.
What will happen with the additional loot? Along with the scaling of the Maliwan Takedown, the Farm Fever event was introduced, which temporarily increased the loot and spawn rate of rare enemies in many activities.
Here as well, the developers are taking a cue and will increase the spawn and drop rates with the update. However, the specifics of this will not be explained.
New Hotfix and New Event
What exactly does the patch on January 30 bring? The patch makes only minor adjustments:
- The Farm Fever event ends.
- The chance of legendary loot from “Red Car Trunk Chests” is increased.
- A bug that sometimes caused players to be launched into the air during the mission “One Man’s Treasure” from the DLC Moxxi’s Heist will be fixed.
- The new “Rare Chest Riches” mini-event will be activated.
The patch will be available as usual at midnight our time. You can find the complete patch notes on the official website.
What kind of new event is this? In the “Chest Riches” mini-event, the rarity of loot from rare chests will be increased for 2 weeks. This is intended to increase the chance of legendary items.
The bonus also works if you watch a streamer opening a rare chest while both of you have the ECHOcast Twitch extension active.
The event runs until the hotfix on February 13.
