On Steam, you can currently save 58% on the price of a dark co-op shooter. The game is known for being particularly challenging.
Which game is it? The co-op shooter GTFO is currently 58% off on Steam. The game costs only €16.79 until March 12 instead of the usual €39.99. You couldn’t purchase the title cheaper than this before.
GTFO comes from the Swedish development studio 10 Chambers, founded in 2015 by Ulf Andersson. He is considered the creative mind behind Payday and Payday 2, which are known as outstanding co-op shooters.
GTFO is also very popular on Steam, with a strong 87% of over 41,000 reviews praising the game. Here you can see a trailer:
Nothing works without good teamwork
What makes the shooter special? GTFO takes place in a dark horror setting. You have to complete expeditions in a prison overrun by hideous monsters with up to 4 players. These expeditions consist of various tasks that you must complete. As you progress, you will delve deeper into the dark corridors of the building.
GTFO is considered extremely difficult, and even experienced shooter players can rarely complete the missions of the game solo. Good teamwork is crucial. You are forced to collaborate with your teammates and coordinate your approach precisely. The developers once mentioned that the game aims to constantly wrest control of the situation from you, and you must try to regain it as a team.
If you accidentally or carelessly wake one of the sleeping monsters, you will have more monsters on your heels than you have ammunition. Therefore, it is even more important to move cautiously and quietly and to eliminate multiple enemies in close proximity simultaneously.
Who is GTFO interesting for? An expedition in GTFO can easily take around 40 minutes – and in the worst-case scenario, you might fail just before the end and have to start over. If you tend to lose patience quickly or bury your head in the sand when you fail, this challenging co-op shooter might not be for you.
However, if you enjoy challenges and have fun giving your best as a team and coordinating precisely, then GTFO is interesting for you – especially if you appreciate getting a little closer to success with each failure.
The developers at 10 Chambers are currently working on a new co-op shooter, which, however, will depart from the dark horror setting. This time, like in Payday, it will be about heists: In a new co-op shooter on Steam, you will rob ruthless companies to fill your own pockets.
