The well-known Twitch streamer “DrDisrespect” is known for his provocative style. But even he will have to rein it in in the future. He will no longer pretend to speak Chinese by throwing out wildly Asian-sounding words. He was previously known for this “Chinese” in PUBG and H1Z1.
What was this “Chinese?” The streamer DrDisrespect used to ramble in an Asian-sounding fantasy language. It sounded like an angry rattling.
This “Chinese” worked on the same principle as “speaking Italian” according to Family Guy: If you just wear a mustache, use a lot of vowels, and wave your arms around wildly, you speak impeccable Italian.
This “Chinese” was something DrDisrespect liked to use in games that had an open voice chat where opponents could hear him but not see him:
- DrDisrespect pretended to be Chinese after defeating an opponent
- he responded to players he thought were Asian in this language
- or he simply got really upset because he had just been killed by a player who was clearly Asian
When DrDisrespect wanted to speak “Chinese,” it looked and sounded like in this clip from YouTube from 2018.
He called out some Asian-sounding words into the room and shot them out like a machine gun and quite aggressively, while making an angry face.

Why did he do that? In 2018, there was a wave of Asian players in then-popular games like PUBG or H1Z1.
DrDisrespect often said in his Twitch streams that he felt like he was only fighting against Asians or against “all of Asia.”
Many Chinese are rumored to cheat – because it holds a different value in their culture.
They also had a different ping and therefore perceived advantages.
Out of respect, I can no longer do that
This is what DrDisrespect says now: In a recent Twitch stream, he was asked to speak Chinese. But DrDisrespect declined and said:
“I have never spoken Chinese; I used a hybrid language that I will no longer speak. It is a personal decision out of respect.”

What’s behind it? In February 2018, DrDisrespect was confronted with accusations of racism – precisely because of these outbursts.
At that time, DrDisrespect flatly denied these accusations and expressed outrage. His wife is “multi-racial.” These accusations only come from people seeking attention. He wouldn’t even engage with that.
But apparently, the criticism did have an impact, and DrDisrespect sees it differently now.

Even the former Twitch streamer Ninja has decided to be more politically correct in his streams.
