A player in EVE Online has confronted Santa Claus.
In the English-speaking world, this is called “Secret Santa” at Christmas, a secret gift exchange. Everyone draws someone to gift. Recently, it went through the media that a woman caught Bill Gates as a Secret Santa, one of the richest men in the world. He showered her with amazing products, as Kotaku knows. She had drawn the big prize.
Even in EVE Online, there have been such “Secret Santa” actions held internally in guilds. One gift exchange went out of control: a player was not at all satisfied with his gift and got into a lot of trouble.
And I want something valuable and also something beautiful, and I want to be able to play with it!
The player had hoped to receive a great gift this time. Something beyond 5 million ISK that would also be useful. That was his dream. His Secret Santa had only been in the game for 6 days and could not give him anything big: “Only” the skin for a Purifier ship was included.

This led to numerous complaints from the ungrateful recipient, who was outraged about such a soulless, uninspired gift. A gift he couldn’t even use because he didn’t have that ship type. He was then shown statistics that he had actually flown the ship. But he continued to complain.
6000 pieces of Carbon for the ungrateful boy
After that, he was “brutally bullied, kicked, and banned for over an hour” by his own “guild,” the Goonswarm Federation, as it is called. And players started sending him space coal Carbon. Everyone a piece, to make it pleasantly annoying. By now, he is said to have received over 6000 units.
Goonswarm has a special reputation in EVE and beyond. The survival MMO H1Z1 once hired them to cause trouble in their game with an invasion:
