The alien invasion of the Triglavians has ended in the space MMORPG EVE Online. The EVE universe has changed significantly.
What was the invasion about? For over a year, an invasion has been taking place in the universe of the MMORPG EVE Online. Aliens known as the Triglavians are attacking the alliances. This started very slowly, but the intensity of the attacks increased over time, until the players could no longer ignore the aliens.
During the conflict, players could even decide whether to switch sides to the aliens. Now, at the end of this invasion, it has become clear why this choice was available.
The all in EVE Online is not the same after the invasion
How did the invasion end? For a long time, it was not known what the Triglavians actually wanted. But now their goal has become known. Suddenly, 27 star systems disappeared from the galaxy of EVE Online.
However, they were not destroyed. The aliens pulled them into what is called Abyssal Space, the home of the Triglavians. Stargates that previously led to these systems have been destroyed. In their place, mysterious channels have appeared, through which not everyone can travel.
What is the significance of this? Important star systems like Niarja, known as the largest trade route, or Ravaraiss and Tunudan are now unreachable for most players. This obviously has a strong impact on overall gameplay.
The newly formed region Pochven is now controlled by the Triglavians. Only those who sided with them can still reach the systems without problems. There, new opportunities and challenges await players, promising wealth, fame, and more.
What about those who did not fight for the aliens? Wormholes keep appearing that lead to the Pochven region. However, wormholes are unstable and dangerous. Additionally, you must expect to be attacked on the other side – both by the Triglavians and by players who are on the side of the aliens.
Furthermore, there are teleportation options to Pochven and back. However, filaments are needed for this, which you first need to obtain. Through teleportations, quick raids can be initiated.
What is special about this? Which star systems the Triglavians took depended solely on the players. Their actions during the invasion over the past months determined which star systems were pulled into Abyssal Space. If, for example, other systems had been defended, the new star map would look different now.
CCP Games intentionally wanted to let players decide through their actions how this invasion would end. Further such events are planned for the future.
EVE Online continues to be shaken by a massive war. This has already cost hundreds of thousands of euros in resources.
