The situation around bots in the space MMORPG EVE Online seems to be escalating. The developers have now stated that they will definitely take action against the problem. They are declaring war on the bots with strong words.
Players of EVE Online are slowly losing their enjoyment, as bots are ruining the economy and even influencing the power structures in the galaxy. Those who play honestly and work hard for everything feel cheated. The developers at CCP Games are also aware of this, having previously announced plans to take action against bots.
A threat against the bots
Therefore, developer “CCP Peligro” has now issued a threat against all bots. Whether you take action client-side or otherwise, they will deal with the bots. There was a meeting where this urgent issue was discussed, and they unanimously decided to take strong action against those using bots.
However, players are showing skepticism. Botting has been a significant problem for over a decade that is now spiraling out of control, and only now is it being taken seriously by CCP Games. The developer studio explains that they wanted to make it clear with this statement that they hear the criticism and that they will take action. But players do not have to believe the team; they will see for themselves when the measures go online.
A new update is coming
When this will happen is currently still unclear. However, it is unlikely to be in the next update, which will be released on February 13. This is expected to bring the following:
- A revision of Upwell structures
- Abandoned structures should become easier to attack
- Active structures should be able to defend themselves better
- There should be better balancing between attackers and defenders
Hopefully, CCP Games will soon say more about the anti-botting measures planned for EVE Online. Because players are slowly losing patience.
