The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) presented its final DLC for 2020 called Markarth during the stream. We will tell you how it is received by the community.
On September 19, ZeniMax presented the fourth ESO DLC for this year via stream. It was originally supposed to be called Darkstorm, but is now named Markarth. This is the name of a city already known from Skyrim. Thus, the chapter “The Black Heart of Skyrim” is expected to reach a worthy conclusion.
The DLC will be available for PC and Stadia on November 2, and for the consoles PS4 and Xbox One on November 10.
Together with the DLC Markarth, Update 28 is also coming. Players can expect a lot of new content and some improvements. This is also being discussed in the community. We want to summarize the first voices there for you from MeinMMO.
The ESO Reddit in Hype
Where are the voices coming from? Yesterday, a post was made in the ESO Reddit by the user IllusiveManJr about the release of Markarth.
This post has received 1700 upvotes and over 200 comments, with the opinions about the DLC being mostly positive.
What delights the users? First of all, the new name of the DLC is praised. The old one was too generic with Darkstorm, and with Markarth, one can at least imagine something or even develop nostalgia. This applies at least to the Skyrim fans in the MMORPG.
But the players especially praise the new features. For example, the arena is getting a lot of positive attention, which is supposed to offer a good opportunity for solo players to test their skills. If you prefer to play in a group, you can enjoy yourself in the battlegrounds:
There will probably be two separate registrations for battlegrounds, one for groups and one for solo[-players]. So if you want to play solo, that’s fine and you’ll only be matched with other solo players. But if you want to play in a group, you can compete against other groups.

The users appreciate the compromise that both lone wolves and team players can get their money’s worth.
Another popular feature is the new collection album in ESO. It is supposed to allow players to collect stickers for equipment they have farmed. Once you have received an item, it will be stored in your album and can be recreated using the right materials. You can also see which items are still missing.
What else is on the users’ minds? Besides these larger changes, many are simply happy about little things. This starts with the look of the new characters:
People, the vampire queen looks like Kate Beckinsale in Underworld!

Additionally, the maximum number of transmutation crystals has been raised, which pleases the community greatly. You can now carry around 500 instead of 100, with ESO+ even 1000. The crystals will also receive a few more functions.
All Sunshine and Rainbows?
What do the users consider? However, not all voices are 100% positive. Some players are concerned about the timing of the release and the player numbers.
Especially in light of the new WoW expansion Shadowlands or Destiny 2 Beyond Light. In addition, single-player games like Assassins Creed Valhalla or Cyberpunk 2077 will be released in November.
The DLC will be released ON THE SAME DAY as Assassins Creed Valhalla! A brazen act…

Some are also bothered that the Greymoor chapter and the individual DLCs are too expensive. Some respond that the DLCs are included in the subscription anyway, so it doesn’t bother them. Others recommend waiting for a sale to save money:
It will probably be on sale at some point. It was just a few weeks ago on Xbox, so I got the collector’s edition cheaply.

With the DLC Markarth, Skyrim and the year 2020 come to an end, but the developers are already thinking about 2021. The question arises, of course, where in Tamriel will it go? Creative Director Rich Lambert already revealed some details in an interview about this.
What about you? Are you excited about the new content or are you still skeptical? And what new features are you particularly happy about?
