In the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online, there are recurring events. From December 16, 2021, to January 4, 2023, the annual New Year’s festival awaits you. MeinMMO reveals all the details about this year’s event and how you can effectively earn your rewards.
When is the New Year’s festival? It starts on December 15 at 16:00 CET and runs until Tuesday, January 3, at 16:00 CET.
What is the New Year’s festival? This event marks the end of the old year and the beginning of the new year in ESO. It is one of the events that also offers a 100% experience bonus. So, if you have unfinished characters, you should take advantage of the XP bonus. The experience bonus can also be combined with potions and scrolls.

How to participate in the New Year’s festival
Travel to Eastmarch and visit the event tent of the New Year’s Herald Breda. There, you can either travel as usual via wayshrine or using a portal that you can find at each event tent of the Impresaria in several areas.
At Breda, you can pick up your daily quests. You can accept a total of nine quests from her each day. An additional quest can be found with Petronius Galenus, who you will also find in the event tent.
Alternatively, you can simply purchase the free starter quest “The New Year’s Festival” in the Crown Store, which conveniently guides you to the right location via quest markers. After completing this quest, you unlock the ten additional event quests.

How to get as many rewards as possible until the event ends
12 charity writs for the event appearance
For 12 completed charity writs, you can unlock the special Crystal Frost appearance.
Complete as many daily quests from the New Year’s festival as possible
To maximize your rewards, you should ideally complete all daily quests at Breda and the additional quest at Petronius Galenus. Additionally, you can do the same quests with all other characters on the same day. However, do not expect much variety.
However, some quests are still worth doing a second time and can be completed quickly. Also, there are the corresponding achievements for the event that you can unlock. You may need to perform certain actions in other locations or make special preparations.
Complete the New Year’s quests with your friends
The quests are simply more fun in a group, and you naturally receive useful tips from other players or can test achievements together.
You can also share these daily quests within your group, thus completing them in the same order and together.
Trade items in your community or guild
Of course, you might also receive some rewards twice. But that’s no problem. You can simply trade with other players. Surely some others are in the same situation.
Search in the guild shops
If you really have no time to play before the event ends, then visit the guild shops. Currently, you will find many of the rewards at low prices.
10 daily quests await you at the New Year’s festival
A variety of different quests provides some change, and the extra achievements challenge you to think a bit more.
How is collecting going for you during the New Year’s festival? Have you dressed up in winter gear, with a winter hat or in the snug Nordic bath towel? Breda’s mead should make the temperatures possible even in the last outfit. The Nords are always quite particular.
