Bethesda provided some insights into the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online at E3 2021. In addition to the enhanced version for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, initial details about the two remaining DLCs for 2021 were also revealed.
What do we know about the two DLCs?
- The second DLC, Waking Flame, will be released in the third quarter (July to September). It will feature two new dungeons for players to explore.
- A new zone is expected to be released in Q4 (October to December). This will be the Deadlands, the realm of Mehrunes Dagon. Initial concept art has also been shared for this.
Additionally, at E3, the enhanced console version and a free trial week of ESO Plus were announced.
The ESO+ trial week runs from June 14 to June 21 and is a great time to get started in ESO. Here are some tips for getting started: ESO: 13 tips for beginners to ease your start in 2021.
The Deadlands are the Focus of Q4
What do we know about the Deadlands? Not much yet. Apparently, in this DLC, we will invade planes of Oblivion to thwart the Daedric Prince’s plans. He is trying to merge worlds, as you found out in the latest expansion, Blackwood.
In terms of scope, the DLC and the Deadlands themselves are said to be inspired by Markarth and Dragonhold. So we can again expect a city as a hub, whatever it looks like.
In line with the Deadlands, Bethesda has now published some concept art, which we have included in a gallery:
What comes next in 2022? With this DLC in autumn, the entire story “Gates of Oblivion” will be concluded, which has occupied us in 2021. After the Deadlands, there will be a completely new story.
Where the journey goes is currently unknown. However, you are welcome to share your ideas and wishes in the comments.
Blackwood is still ongoing: The new expansion Blackwood was released for PC on June 1 and for consoles on June 8. It features new story content, the new zone Darkwood, and several other features that we have summarized in our hub for Blackwood.
Moreover, a new mythic item was introduced that is very interesting for damage dealers. The demand was so high that players almost fought over farming spots:
