On reddit, there is currently a discussion about the mentality of veterans in dungeons in The Elder Scrolls Online. The main complaint is about a lack of consideration for newcomers. However, due to careless actions, they can lose loot and enjoyment of the game.
What is the problem? The user jerkmcgee_ complains in a post that he was recently on a dungeon run where he and the tank were very experienced, but the other two players were newcomers.
The tank was allegedly constantly rushing ahead, taking down enemies and even bosses solo while the newcomers were still busy with quests and running around. As a result, the newcomers had a miserable gaming experience.
This behavior seems totally unnecessary to jerkmcgee_ and urges experienced players to at least wait before boss fights so that all players can participate:
If you want to be fast and it bothers you that your teammates are too slow, then at least wait during the boss. Maybe you should write something in chat instead of assuming that all players are in the zoom-zoom meta. People are doing quests, going to the bathroom at the start – just wait a minute.
If that’s too much to ask, you’re probably antisocial, and I don’t know why you’re trying to play cooperative multiplayer games.

What is the problem with “rushing through”? In the dungeons of ESO, there are boss fights that cannot be re-entered after starting. If the tank activates these, players who are not nearby cannot participate in the fight.
These players do not receive loot for defeating the boss either. Yet, it’s the newcomers who benefit the most from new equipment.
Many wish for a departure from the “everything must be fast” mentality
What do the other users say on reddit? The thread from jerkmcgee_ has received over 850 upvotes within a few hours and is getting a lot of support from other users.
They share their own stories, such as user Sambucca_1973, who had a DPS with many champion points on the team and who always jumped into the fight ahead of the inexperienced tank. He often died, but the rest of the group ignored it.
Vyvonea is also annoyed that especially new players are expected to subordinate themselves in the dungeon finder. After all, they usually have the fewest contacts in the game:
What really bothers me – and this applies to other MMOs too – is that newer players are always expected to manually find a group, even though they probably have no friends or a guild to do things with.

The general sentiment in the thread is clear: A little consideration for beginners and a few extra minutes really does not hurt anyone. Those looking for a challenge should rather find teammates in veteran mode instead of completing normal random dungeons.
Criticism also of fake tanks and healers: Throughout the thread, it becomes clear that not only experienced players but also “lying players” are a problem.
We have repeatedly reported on MeinMMO about players who sign up as tanks or healers but do not actually fulfill that role. Our author Larissa Then has elaborated on this topic in this column:
You can play fake tank in ESO, but then you just annoy everyone
